Nausea

Hi everyone!

I was diagnosed with a 3mm prolactinoma (though it might also be a Rathke’s cyst - they’re not entirely sure), but either way, my prolactin level is 3400 mIU/L.

However, the only symptom I experienced before getting tested was chronic nausea that lasted for 5 months. It doesn’t respond to any standard GI medications or Cerucal (metoclopramide). I also have this intense aversion to food - it feels like there’s a lump in my throat, I have zero appetite, and I feel nauseated from morning until night.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of symptom with hyperprolactinemia?

Chronic nausea

Hi everyone. I’ve been suffering from chronic nausea for the past five months, and it doesn’t respond to anti-nausea medications. It all started after a severe case of food poisoning (or possibly a rotavirus infection).

I wake up feeling nauseous every morning, and it gets worse before meals and while I’m eating. I keep losing weight, and I’m honestly scared that this will never end. My blood tests and all my gastroenterology evaluations have come back normal.

My neurologist prescribed 12.5 mg of amitriptyline to take at night. I haven’t started taking it yet, but I’m wondering if it has actually helped anyone. I’m feeling desperate.
