I (30m) and my best friend (30m) discover our lives have been a lie. Our nation's leader had lured the rightful leaders into a trap with our national enemies and got them all killed, then forced many of the next generation, me and my buddy included, to work the mines so he can pay off our enemies. Naturally, I am livid and want to get even.

After we pick up some new allies and expose the leader, my buddy stops me from finishing him off. Something along the lines of "you'll be just like him." I get him out of the way, kill the leader, but God decides my buddy should be the next leader. We get into a tussle and my buddy banishes me and the allies. AITJ?
