Damn that was good

This fight took me like 20 minutes of absolute madness. With fights like this PoE has most Shin Megami Tensei vibes out of all crpgs. Constant buffing-debuffing, juggling control and heals, just to survive and deal with massive horde and boss. 10/10

Legacy of Baal on 1st playthrough?

So, I played bg1 like 20 years ago and I don't remember much, so it will be almost fresh playthrough, where I will relearn mechanics on the go
I got experience in crpgs, I finished many of them on hardest difficulty, frim nwn to dragon age to bg3 to fallout 2. I used to macro, minmaxing, kiting and other "advanced" strats. And I'm always looking forward for challenge.
I like to survive early game where everything stomps on me, get hard wins, and build strong in lategame and stomp on everything.
I always play on highest difficulty, but most crpgs quickly fall off and in second half of the game I start to obliterate everything. Like, I'm playing Pillars of Eternity 2 right now on Path of the Damned with half magrans fires on, and I'm breezing through it.
But I read controversial opinions, that LoB makes most of game mechanics non viable and forces you to use limited most op kit.
Is it true? If I want to play "casually", like melee mc, recruited npcs, without constantly abusing same stuff like summons or making custom very specific party, can I still play on LoB or it's more of a chore/puzzle, than a challenge?

Bug or I'm stupid?

So I have finished hasongo and got this quest after adra pillar scene. It tells that Eothas spoke to me and other stuff but NOTHING of this happened. I even reloaded the save and restored adra pillar again, but text said about going inbetween bla bla restoration of pillar and 0 mentions of eothas. So wtf is going on? Is it a bug? It looks like I skipped get some important plot and I dunno what's going on at all.

Why ppl hate sea combat so much?

It's fast, funny and let you destroy enemies levels higher of you even on potd + challenges. Also different enemy ships require different strategies, some try to ram you or dodge. And for ship battle wins you get unique triumph flags, that you don't get while boarding. Only downside is less trash tier loot from enemies, but you always get unique loot, even after ship battles.

Rogue cipher question

So, I want to multiclass glass cannon full damage dealer rogue to cipher exclusively for that bonus damage. I don't plan to use cipher spells. What should I choose, ascendant or soul blade?

Soulblade looks more powerful (30% soul whip dmg), but soul whip doesn't work with full focus, so I would need to constantly use his ability to reset focus. Combine this with high glass cannon damage and my focus will always be at max, so I will constantly lose soul whip bonus and meed to spam this skill.

Ascendant on other hand has 10% less "base" soul whip damage but his soul whip works even with full focus and ascended state give 20% more damage (up to whopping 40% total), and if I never use cipher spells, my focus should always be high.

I didn't play poe2 yet, so I'm theory crafting based on poe1 , where focus gain was super high, and you can get it to full with 2 crits.

So what should I choose?

Magrans Fires for first playthrough

So I almost finished with my playthrough of PoE1. I played on PotD + expert, and challenge was pretty nice, but fell of in the endgame.

As I know, PoE 2 has optional challenges that make game even harder, but I'm afraid for them to be unbalanced. So what challenges would you recommend for FIRST playthrough?

I will play casually on PotD + expert, with full party and will use everything game offers, no handicaps. I want to experience full game mechanics, but I like it to be challenging

I definitely don't want Ironman (I don't know the game and will die alot) and time limit (I like to 100% everything)

I'm sceptical about no pause (I'm on ps5 and I can't imagine playing such game without pausing on gamepad)

And for all other ones, I don't know which is good to take, and which will be poorly balanced. For example , I really like concept of "equipment durability" one, especially when in PoE1 I had tons of useless money and 100+ of unused uniques, but I don't know how balanced it is

So, any suggestions? What should I turn on?
