Zumba Fitness or Community

Do you think Zumba is still about Fitness or has it become more about Community and Fun? I know some students come for the socialization and do not sweat at all or give it their all - they like to hoot and holler. While others take it more seriously to get a workout to sweat. So what do you think?

Past Experience

If you could go back in time with the knowledge you have today, what would you have done differently in your classes? If you could change something from a negative to a positive what would that be?

When I started Zumba, there were no mentors, no jam sessions - besides the choreography from Zin Volumes (#15) you had to rely on YouTube or choreograph yourself.

Just curious you would have done things differently for your students.

“Would you rather…”

*When taking a Zumba class for the first time, would you rather dance in the front or hide in the back?
*Would you rather sweat buckets or barely sweat? so fans on or off?
*Would you rather take morning classes or evening classes and why?
*Would you rather have perfect rhythm or unlimited energy?
*Would you rather learn the various rhythms the instructor is teaching or just follow and don’t care.

Just wanted to get some feedback to get points of view from students.

After teaching multiple classes each week, how do you recover? Do you get massages? Soak in hot tub? Go for active recovery stretches? How do you fix the aches, pains, and soreness? Comment on the ways you recover after teaching multiple classes each week.
