Song Recs!

Hey! New Instructor here- I’ve had a class for almost two months now. My class goes bananas for the song Rapapari (Zin 113). But I need to replace it with something else! Any recommendations for something that is similar to 150 bpm with some class participation?
Thanks!

How often do you do Zumba? Have you seen results?

Curious to know if anyone who's been doing Zumba for a long time has seen results in their workouts, could be weight loss, strength gained, energy, mobility, anything.

Update: I quit.

A while ago I posted here about trying to become a Zumba instructor in Serbia as a male instructor and how nobody was showing up to classes.

Well… this is the update.

I’m done.

After so much of trying, spending money on sponsored Instagram and TikTok ads, printing flyers, promoting constantly, messaging people back, trying different approaches… I’ve officially burned out.

And honestly? What defeated me wasn’t even the empty classes anymore.

It was the atmosphere around this industry.

I tried getting into gyms and fitness centers. Hard no after hard no.
The vibe felt either

  • “you can’t sit with us."
  • or people acting weirdly threatened for absolutely no reason.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it genuinely felt like some instructors saw me as competition immediately, while others acted uncomfortable around me because I’m openly gay. Like somehow I’m there to expose people or cause drama, which is insane to me because I literally just wanted to teach dance fitness.

And the truth is, from what I experienced, getting into this field here feels less about skill and more about the following:

  • being a conventionally attractive woman,
  • already knowing the owner,
  • or fitting into the existing social circle.

I even tried another place with an open studio where people walking by could actually see the class happening.

People would stop. Look inside. Watch for a few seconds.

And then just walk away.

No questions.
No curiosity.
Nothing.

Just that “what is this weirdo doing?” kind of look.

That’s the moment that honestly broke me.

So yeah. I decided to cut my losses and quit before I completely destroy my confidence trying to force something that clearly isn’t working here.

I still love dancing. I still love teaching.
But I don’t think I have the energy left to keep fighting this battle anymore.

Why is it bad for health if I take two intensive fitness classes (such as Zumba) per day, 7 days a week?

I thought the more the better as long as one could handle the load but I heard that this is not good for health. Is it really true? Why?

17 Y.O. male considering being an instructor

Hello, I am a 17 year old male who LOVES doing Zumba. I am a happy, positive, and bright person who likes interacting with people. I also have no problem going up infront of the class to do a song or 2. I do Zumba multiple times a week, and recently one of my instructors told me about this Basic 1 training that's happening soon for only $100 (which seems like a great deal). She says I have what it takes (I'm flattered) but I'm really scared to reserve my spot for a few reasons.

  1. Would anyone hire me? (I would work part time) I have no experience (this would be a first job as well) and since I'm a minor, I fear that major corps would be hesitant to hire me for insurance purposes.
  2. I really don't like the subscription based ZIN membership. I'm worried that I might not be able to get hired within the 6 month grace period (after Basic 1 training) to see if I like teaching it enough to get the subscription.

I'm hoping someone could give me some advice or reassurance 😄

Thanks for reading this rant lol

ZIN question about jumpstart gold

I am taking the jumpstart training tomorrow (b1 and gold). I understand that I will have my b1 license good for 6 months without having to sign up for zin. But the gold license will require zin.

Does anyone know how long I have to decide about joining zin for my gold license? If I don’t sign up tomorrow, do I have some time to decide beyond the training day or do I immediately lose my opportunity to have the gold license (and would need to take that training again)? It’s unclear in the emails.

I like the idea of having 6 months without paying the zin fee while looking for work.

Shimmer choreo

Love the song, but why does the choreo need to be so similar to last months pop song Concentrate? Kinda annoyed, will def be making adjustments.

AI generated Zumba music

I've come across a few posts on this and I'm confused. Are there AI generated songs on the zin app or is this only when you're searching for choreo in other places like YouTube?

What about the songs that are exclusive Zumba songs?

I'd really rather not use AI generated music.

AI generated music is taking over the Zumba world :/

Sadly, AI music is totally taking over the Zumba world. I always loved using YouTube for choreography for my class. Lately, I noticed the AI music slowly creeping in but at this point it is just everywhere and even big content creators (Mark Kramer etc.) are using AI generated music. I find it so sad that the content creators lean into this trend and do not find anything wrong with using AI generated music. Beyond ethical and environmental considerations, it just sounds so generic and unimaginative. I hope that people will wake up a little eventually and realize that this is not a good thing. Anyway, if you are like me - using YouTube for your choreos but against AI music, I strongly recommend checking every song you consider before you invest your time in it.

They might cancel Zumba class tonight

Here in Cape Town, South Africa, we've been having some hectic rain. They've closed one of our major national roads and schools are closed today. I really hope that Zumba class tonight doesn't get cancelled, we all need that joy and vibe in these tough times. Massive shoutout and appreciation to all the instructors for spreading good vibes! Thank you for making it all worth it.
