Trying to find a song circa 2013 I think..

It definitely sampled ‘When I hear music’ by Debbie Deb in someway. And I think the lyrics said something like ‘hey mr dj..’ but I could be getting confused.
Not much to go on but hoping it’ll jog someone else’s memory!

Favourite salsa track?

Hi! I recently started teaching and I noticed my students are struggling with the salsa I chose. I am going to keep it until the end of July to give them time to catch on. But I was wondering what everyone’s favourite (easy-ish) salsa is. I have very limited ZIN choreographies since I just got my B1 in April, but I have been doing Zumba for 5 years so I may remember some steps if I hear a familiar song.
Thanks!!

Subbing

New ZIN. I was immediately hired by a gym to sub but haven’t heard of any sub needs (it’s only been a few weeks). I was hoping summer would be the time their regular instructors would need coverage.

I have subbed at a studio a few times, but not at the gym.

Just curious for those who are on a gym’s sub list - how often do they actually ask you to sub?

I guess I should also apply to all the other gyms in the area as a sub as well.

Rhythm 3 training

Has anyone taken this? I've only done the first one. Does it unlock more choreography on the Zin app? Did you enjoy the training?

I am not your content.

This is a follow up to a previous posts about filming during Zumba classes.

I thought I had found two wonderful instructors but the constant filming by them and their regulars have ruined it. I totally understand doing a little bit of filming during a song as long as attendees have the choice to move out of frame. But doing it through almost the whole class is absolutely riduculous.

I let each instructor know that I didn't like to be filmed and posted to social media. They both took my feedback extremely well. So I returned to class. The instructor let me know she had informed people to not film me on the side and to let her see the video before they posted it. The filming ended up being the worst it has ever been. It felt like mean girl energy. Two of them leaned their phones up against their water bottles on the edge of the class getting everyone in the shot. I moved away from the whole group. Then they'd run up with their phone to film it from the front. The worst one didn't even dance the last song.

Just enjoy the class and quit filming! The instructor asked me if I was ok after class and I said, no, it was ridiculous and felt uncomfortable. She acts empathetic and says her sisters and other women don't like it. I asked if the ones filming were content creators and she said yes. I said, I don't want to be their content. It is absolutely unacceptable to pay for a class and be treated as marketing content. These are not cheap classes, they are in studios, pay per class.

I'm so over it. I found a gym with Zumba that doesn't allow filming. Is the instructor as good? Not really but I'm more comfortable.

Zumba +Lift

I’m very tempted to complete the Zumba + Lift training, particularly because it’s currently 40% off training.
Looking for feedback from those who have done it? Did you find it useful? Are the bonus choreos useable in class? Will you be teaching it as a separate class etc?
I teach in gyms where Les Mills classes are popular so unlikely to have opportunity for separate class so may include in regular Zumba-is this possible?

Toning Sticks

Does anyone know the story behind why they don’t make the toning sticks anymore? My class is growing and I’ve run out, especially the purple ones. I’m scouting eBay all the time, but it’s just weird.

Dance sneaker recommendation please!

Hi all! Been taking Zumba classes for about a year now and want to buy a high quality dance sneaker...or just a great sneaker for dance workouts.  Is the "Zumba" brand worth buying? Does the split bottom make a difference?  I take fast paced classes 2-3 times weekly. Years ago I wore a mid-rise or high top for regular workouts and found those very supportive. I'd love your recommendations for a really great sneaker. TIA for your help👟

Any recommendations for simple and fun choreograph on ZIN Play?

I am looking for songs with really easy-to-learn choreography that I can rotate in and out of my class. I have choreographed a few and found some on YouTube, but I am frustrated by how few are available on the ZIN app. The only one I found there so far that fits the bill is Me Lo Gozo.

As a student, I love when there are some songs that I can just relax and have fun with rather than trying to keep up with following complex choreography. And as an instructor, it’s handy to have a few that I could learn extremely quickly, and where I can be expressive and interact with the class without having to cue so much.

So—anybody have any recommendations? I have access to volume 116 or later, but I’ll take whatever recs I can get!

Being a Zumba teacher at a party

Does anyone else find it somewhat annoying when someone at a party will say “show us some moves, Zumba teacher!” And especially I find it interesting it’s always friends of friends who never go to or share my classes 😂 it’s happened to me a few times and sometimes I’m just there to chill and just want to vibe to the music or dance with my friends. Has anyone else experienced this?
