Real Blurb: Fresh off a near national championship linebacker Jason Westgate meets his match in a mysterious red haired grad student at a party. The fact that she doesn't seem to want to give him the time of day only increase his desire for her. She gives him a series of tasks that only seem more deviant as time goes on. Will he broaden his horizons under her guidance or retreat back to the easy hookups he has known so far?

I had a couple of goals going into this 1) Try out plan mode to see how it did at making things less cliff hanger like at the end of chapters. 2) Use spark to see how it worked in comparison to Ember and Ink. 3) Figure out if the new quill economy was going to work for me.

Short answers 1) Plan mode for 4 chapters was a good base to the story. I didn't use it past there but the by then the model was picking up on what was going on. 2) Spark was pretty good, it had some continuity issues after about 15 chapters. But that was true with Ember as well. If I had just been more diligent with updating the lore book it probably wouldn't be a problem. 3) It works for me, but I have enough free time to write one or two chapters a day at most plus my streak is putting an average of more then 100 quills in my bank every day so it costing a few more isn't a problem.

Prompt Contents reveal suggestion

I have mentioned a couple of times in the ideas threads that it would be handy to have an advanced view of the full prompt that is passed to the back end LLM. Mostly for trouble shooting why the prompt sometimes goes off the rails. But I realize this may expose things that the RQ team needs to keep secret for a bunch of reasons. So I come to you with a compromise suggestion that I hope you will consider.

In silly tavern there is a button to see the token size of your prompt and a break down of the sources of these tokens. Here is one from a chat I created:

It doesn't actually show the tokens themselves but critically it does show how large and from which sources the tokens came from. I can envision something like this in the writers tools for the chapter that gives a break down of where all the sources are pulled from and how large they are.

I will give an example for why this would be helpful. In my last story there is a chapter where lots of action happens (not the sexy kind of action) about 30 chapters in. Given that I wanted the chapter to move briskly I pack a ton into the prompt. But every time I ran it the output started half way down the prompt, totally skipping the first half. I tried a couple of tweaks to get it to include the details from the first half but nothing was working. The thing that eventually fixed it was splitting the prompt into two chapters. I can only assume but because LLM's value the thing at the end of the prompt over the beginning I was blowing past the token budget for the prompt and it was doing some triage when it constructed the output.

Giving more insight into what we are subjecting the LLM to would have helped me identify the issues sooner.

Naked Wish Fulfillment

So what happens if you take a bunch of components of different stories and put them in a blender? Naked Wish Fulfillment It's very straight male fantasy, hence the name. I tried hard to have more of the picture I generated in the cover, but evidently this is to much for any of the usual suspects and I couldn't get the local generation to do anything that looked like a cover.

I don't think it appreciated the word "naked" either but putting it in single quotes calmed things down.

After spending a bunch of time creating the story the end made me tear up a bit, so I hope you have the time to read and enjoy.
