Interested in the really sexual stories

Ok so this sub seems to be mostly posts that are pointing out the issues with red quill. People complain about the service etc. I am more interested in hearing from the people who use red quill to create... well... smut lol. What are some of the horniest and hottest story ideas you people have? I love to explore kinky stuff and I create prompts that are very sexual. Do you guys also do that? Tell me about it.

So what's your deal (as in like what are you writing about)?

I'd like to see Redquill be more of a community, but it's hard to find stories that match my interests, but also I'm just interested in what you're doing with the thing.

My deal is gay (mostly), effeminate dudes (but not like sissy stuff, or usual crossdressing stuff, more glam rock, not that there's anything wrong with the other thing, it's just not my thing). Decadent literature, pretty specific times and places (1970s London, interwar London, belle epoque France, Vietnam during the war), rock n' roll, petty criminals, rough dangerous sex, 1970s-80s gay culture, Jean Genet, revenge, second chance "romance", transformation but not like magical transformation more like makeovers, emotional sadism, weird toxic dynamics, guerrilla soldiers, hair fetishism, stiletto heels, competition about who gets to top, machismo, rebels and revolutionaries. What about you?

How to A Sequel

I had an idea of writing a continuation of a story that I have already published. I know that I can add chapters but I was thinking it would be better as a sequel.
Is there a good way to have the AI remember the details of the previous story when starting a new story?

Did something actually unlock or is this just for show?

after reading a post saying that you can tap on the red feather while waiting for a chapter to generate, I tapped the feather a bunch of times and this eventually showed up

Scenario Contest

I actually think it's cool but I wish there was a way to stop people making stories just for quills (like a minimum word count of something). Like I get not wanting to pay for quills, but it like floods the freaking page so you have to search for all the actual stories and it's so annoying.

Advice

Does anyone have any advice to stop the AI from treating relationships as business mergers. To stop the AI from treating relationships as transactions?

ADVICE PLEASE! How much does the lore book ACTUALLY help?

Ok so I'm 30 chapters in with this story and planning for it to go on for much longer, and I'm getting increasingly frustrated at the AI getting details wrong. There's been a couple recently where the mistake was so big, it just took me out of the story and I had no alternative but to delete the chapter (and lose the quills) and re-generate it giving the AI very detailed info about what it got wrong the first time. These two cases were:

  • The AI deciding my two MCs, who had met 3 years prior in a very specific way, had actually met 6 years prior, in a completely different way. This wasn't a "they had met before and didn't realise" plot twist thing.
  • My MMC had previously told the FMC a very personal story, and they'd bonded over it. Then several chapters later the MMC tells her the story again, and she goes "wow you've never told me this before". ???? He literally has and you've referenced it several times since?

I don't mind minor things, like if something happened three weeks ago and the AI thinks if was four weeks ago, it's no big deal and I can just move past it. But things like the above are just too annoying.

Now my question is**: if I go into the Lorebook and individually edit each chapter summary so that it includes all pertinent details that I would be upset about the AI getting wrong, will this guarantee that the AI won't get those details wrong in future?** I'm insane enough that I'm willing to spend the time and effort to do that, but not so insane to do it if it's going to result in no improvement to my experience.

If someone has done the above and it worked, or can otherwise advise, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone managed to get it to stop doing the "You're Xing" "No, I'm Ying, there's a difference" tic?

It's CONSTANTLY doing that to me and it drives me up the wall. I also feel like it is a constant struggle to get it to do dialogue that doesn't read like a Joss Whedon script or corporate press release jargon, which when I'm trying to get it to write about working class punks in 1970s London is jarring

So why do you use redquill?

I use it because it's a weird toy I enjoy messing around with and also because I have very weird sexual tastes and the amount of erotic content that actually caters to them is very small, and I also tend to want things in a very specific style and I have a couple of weird fantasies I've never been able to write out by myself or indulge with a partner. What about you?

Status alert: site issues pages not loading, sign-in failure — cause identified, recovering

We've had a big spike in reports over the last 12 hours — trouble loading chapters, sign-in problems, slow load times, and pages not displaying properly.

We're digging into it now, and the main culprit looks to be Railway, one of our infrastructure providers, which is reporting intermittent errors on their end.

We're currently seeing recovery — things are coming back — but systems like this often take a little time to fully settle, so you may still bump into the odd slow load or glitch over the next while.

If the same problem keeps cropping up for you, try closing and reopening your browser and clearing your cache — that usually clears out the last of it.

Thanks for bearing with us. We'll keep watching it and update right here if anything changes.

My chapter was deleted (not saved?)

I've added a new chapter to my story two days ago, just around when there were the problems with the server and the site. And now the chapter is missing.

It's missing both from the public story:

https://www.redquill.net/story/udamdf-whispers-of-a-good-girl/12

Story share code

AQX7lsx8aV0Cnz4FvyBTeFlz

Chapter 12 share code

A4BtDcMRlSxhyfxN6d9GElZx

*It is now unlisted until I get the chapter back

And from the draft version:

https://www.redquill.net/story/uht3yl/12

Story share code

AfjHJrFqteKFl6im07aCMNin

Chapter 12 share code

Az1lQt4BZnTdW1w6TLC6U8lv

The problem is that I had the only copy in another draft (same story called "Whispers" with 11 chapters), which I deleted as I didn't need that fork version anymore.

Is there a chance to get the chapter back?

AI changing characters

Anyone else have the AI change a character's sexuality? One of my characters is in a straight relationship with no hints of liking men but my last chapter has him kissing one of his male friends out of nowhere. Most of my stories are LGTBQ so I don't have a problem with that but it just seemed odd. (And obviously complicates his current relationship)

I don't want to completely rewrite what was an otherwise good chapter but I don't see another way except to explain it away in the next chapter.

I know I can prompt it to not do this going forward but I didn't think it would be necessary.

Found a hidden Easter egg on the site!

Hey everyone,

Just discovered something cool happens while you're waiting for your chapter to generate if you repeatedly click the Red Quill icon in the middle of the screen that is there until the text of your chapter appears. I apologize if someone else has already posted about this.

Walt Whitman…

It started off by just repeatedly, throughout ALL of my stories, multiple times per chapter, having my characters say “I contain multitudes…”
As of late the AI is having the characters call each other out on quoting Whitman. Its as if this is being integrated into banter, just because. I’ve even created components trying to negate this.
Does anyone else’s stories generate with this generic ass line CONSTANTLY?!

Weekly and monthly streaks

The site just stabilized enough for me to be able to open the achievements page, and I saw that my monthly streak was marked completed (I managed to generate a chapter yesterday before the site broke down), but I didn't get the rewarded Quills.

The same thing happened for the weekly streak on Monday, and I thought it was a temporary glitch and didn't think much of it, but apparently only my daily streaks are working and the weekly/monthly ones are not. Is anyone else also having this issue?

Since the site's down I have no further context on this than what's being shown to me, but surely this goes against guidelines? I don't know if these kinds of posts are even made here, but it caught me off-guard, especially because I get flagged for non-consensual content regularly despite stating that everyone consented multiple times in the prompt.
