The Monthly Muse | October: Monsters Are People Too!

It's October, and the monsters are out. Unfortunately, they've still got bills to pay, relationships to maintain, and romantic entanglements to navigate.

This month's Muse is all about the mundane lives of extraordinary beings.

The Challenge:

Write a story featuring a traditionally monstrous, mythical, or supernatural character dealing with an ordinary, everyday situation or relationship. Alternatively, create an RQ character component built around the same premise and share it with the community!

Need a little inspiration?

- A fairy barista struggling to pay off her student loans offers special service to the regulars.

- Cthulhu desperately trying to get eight uninterrupted hours of sleep while his cultists continuously hold orgies to wake him up.

- A werewolf hopelessly in love with a princess, but too shy to tell her.

- A lich navigating the unfortunate consequence of ED brought on by his condition.

- A vampire discovers his favorite thrall has been cheating on him with a leech monster. He is angered at first, but realizes he has been ignoring her.

- A demon whose greatest ambition is to win the neighborhood gardening competition, but his he'll spawned plants terrify his neighbors.

- A wizard cuckhold scries on his wife as she goes to a sex club for the first time.

The only rule: Your monster must have an ordinary, relatable desire or problem. How extraordinary the consequences become is entirely up to you.

Comedy, romance, erotica, horror, tragedy, or something in between—we want to see what happens when the supernatural meets the painfully normal.

I am really enjoying the Plan Mode. I usually plan out my stories using an outline and pacing them. Using the Plan Mode means the AI isn't trying to wrap up the story at the end of each chapter or rushing the pacing to get all the scenes or positions into one chapter. And by planning out the pacing and when new characters come into the story, the AI is not predicting that the character listed at generation is coming, maintaining the surprise. It also seems to be helping with keeping information that the characters shouldn't know hidden.

TL; DR: I like the Plan Mode. It really suits my creation style.
