Popular games with the least amount of annual sets

I’ve been really into Magic Arena but before I physically collect any cards I was wondering if any other games release fewer annual sets? Budget isn’t necessarily an issue but I’d prefer time to collect as many cards as I can whilst learning the meta of my deck.

How does unlinked devices work?

I have unlinked all my devices from WhatsApp on my phone. However, my line of work has me logging in and out of WhatsApp a lot on company devices to download files. If I left WhatsApp open on one device and it disconnected from the internet (before I unlinked it remotely from my phone) would it stay logged in after the device reconnects to the internet?

Newbie confused by sets and expansions

I understand that there’s an annual rotation of cards within standard format but I’m not totally sure if I’m distinguishing between the two terms correctly? Is the recently released “Secrets of Strixhaven” a set or expansion? Would these cards be rotated out in the next few years then?

Are hybrid games a thing?

I have local TCG stores nearby where I live but I always thought that uploading your physical cards online like Nintendo’s Amiibo’s would be really cool? Is this possible and what TCG games make good use of this? I am a totally new player looking to get started after my Gwent and Slay The Spire phase!
