I got a fix-it ticket for expired reg. (shame on me, I know), but I've been a bit too busy to go into the office (and I can't make an appointment in time). They processed my request and approved it, but now it says it's 21 days to get it to me in the mail! I need to get the ticket signed off by 7/24. Am I cooked? Can I go in person and get it sooner?
I just finished being an alternate juror on a criminal case that ended in a hung jury.
For those litigators here (criminal or civil) - what is it like to retry a case all over again? How much work/preparation can you reuse? Do you have to re-prep the witnesses? Would it - say - be closer to 80% of the effort or 20%?
Or rather ELI50 because back in my day, we still hand wrote exams. What is canvas? What functions do universities rely on it for? Was its outage really as disruptive as all the memes imply?
