Come Bets (3 Point or Infinite Molly) or Place Bets (Triple Lux, Squeeze Play, Etc.)?

Which way do you play? Come bets with max odds (or odds in general) or some press and collect system for Place bets? Which is your strategy? I know the math is better on Come bets, but I feel as though I win more (or more importantly lose less) on Place bets. Share what you do and why!

In for $1,000, out for $1,980

Harrahs Metropolis is a fun little casino. Came in today for the craps tournament, which was fun....but different.

Kept my positive momentum up with some good power press/collects while hitting the all small...couldn't get midnight for full ATS. Had some other good shooters there as well, a couple of long rolls going. I couldn't get a $500 place payout, but did get a 9 at $180.

This pushes me over the $13k mark for my winnings over my lifetime. I don't feel comfortable yet at a $25 table or starting with more than $66 across just yet...but I remember when winning a green chip (or betting one) was a big deal. Now, I don't bat an eye when my $360 or $720 place bet falls, because I didn't use my money to get there. Perspective is key.

In for $1000, Out for $1135...the hard way.

Accompanied my wife to her aunt's funeral in Memphis. Took a detour down to Tunica. Got destroyed on the bouncy tables at Horseshoe (down $400, my first session stop loss limit). Drove to 1st Jackpot because I saw a sign that said $5 Table Games Always. Craps was closed. 😒

Went over to Gold Strike. Hit 4 points and the All Tall, pushed my 5 to $360 and hit! 7 out as I'd pushed it to $780.

Second time shooting, hit 2 points and a few numbers. Dice landed on some odds and of course Big Red shows up. Tipped the dealers an additional $50 (I bet the ATS for them and had them riding with my inside, dealer control). Played some other shooters, but it went poorly. Two consecutive cycles of pressing my inside on an outside point (I am a power press/collect/press/collect place bettor) and got reamed when they hit all the inside numbers once each before they 7 out.

Since second session started at $600 and my Walk Away No Matter What is $500 after an initial down session, I called it a day. Discipline over chasing the hot shooters, always. It's not always the big wins that matter...the disciplined approach keeps me in the black and I got to have a little fun on the house's dime.

Fire Bets...Do You Don't or Don't You Don't?

Do any of you do the fire bet? If so, for how much? I've only bet and won once, on a 5 point with a $1 bet. It seems like a bad idea, like ATS seems like it would hit more often. Have you ever won on this?

Dice landed on top of each other, "no roll" called?

I was the shooter on a roll at Horseshoe Tunica yesterday and had something happened that I've never seen before. The dice came to rest on top of each other.

The bottom die had already come to rest with a 5 showing. The second die hoppee around the back wall and landed here with a 6 showing. Should have been called an 11, right? They said they couldn't call it and called no roll.

What's the actual rule here? I've seen dice land on chips or something else on the table and it was called. Why was this different?

Crapless vs. Normal Table

Do you guys have a preference for a normal table or a crapless one? I try to avoid crapless tables unless it's the only one open or has the lowest minimum.

Is Dice Control real?

I'll put it out there: I'm a believer. I track my sessions and my average roll is longer than what would be the average according to probability. I'm up on the casinos for my lifetime, and I've had some truly monster rolls.

But is it all in my head? What do you guys think?

Buy-in after a successful point hit?

I only buy in when the puck is off, but sometimes I want in on a strong shooter. Is it a breach of etiquette to buy in right after a successful point, prior to the shooters next roll while the dice are in the middle or should I wait for a seven-out? I would never buy in when the puck is on...

$500 bankroll each turned into $3500+ combined in 2.5 hours

My son and I played on a $15 table with a $500 bankroll. We used a variation of Power Press/Collect while still playing the pass line with 2X odds. Hit ATS 4 times (one away from All Of Em twice). The hot table was super fun, but the pit boss raised the table to $25 and didn't allow a grandfather at the $15 limit so it was time to leave. What betting systems do you use?
