Invisible Creature

Invisible Creature

Hello. I'm curious as to what you all think about Invisible Creature. They're an illustration company that comes out of Seattle. When I came across this sub I thought the Alegria style and the Invisible Creature artwork had some overlap, but internally I feel totally disconnected from the former. What do you guys think? Is the artwork too similar in style or are you more willing to call it genuinely tasteful?

Twice in one week

Given that it’s only been about a week since I have heard a response, I’m going to hold on to the hope that they’ll eventually get back to me.

The first to ghost me was a former lover. We met online back in December of 2023. We really hit it off and for about 1.5 years had talked everyday. I was so quick to tell her I loved her. I remember it rolled out of me after she said something funny. I think we both paused with some amount of shock; me that I said it so naturally, and her because it came so quickly.

Some months after, we dated LDR for about a year. At the time, she was my best friend, but issues had arisen regarding how she felt about herself of which I did my best to encourage her without being too pushy. I drove across the country and although it wasn’t entirely for the purpose of meeting her, I was insistent and tried to be as accommodating as possible for the opportunity to meet. She declined both as I was arriving her region and as I had left. I was disappointed, but I know I could only provide the opportunity. It was maybe a month or two afterward that I brought up our relationship and we mutually agreed that it was unlikely to turn into much more until she worked through her insecurities. This was probably a year ago now.

Since then we’d find time to talk between me seeing my friends and her seeing hers. She had gotten a job later and so her time had become more limited. Talking had become less and less over the past few months. Last conversation I had with her over the phone was how I wanted to talk to her even if I was with my friend and she insisted that it was okay and to go be with them. She eventually just hung up. After some time I had messaged her about being able to get her schedule as to be able to coordinate calling her. She never addressed it. The few last times she messaged me were short response. Now she doesn’t text at all.

I’m going to send her a letter I wrote last year along with her birthday gift. She’s probably gonna hate that I sent it to her mother’s place, but she deserves to know how special she is to me.

The second was a friend I had met online only a few weeks ago. While we talked we matched each others humor and fantastically. We could riff for hours and just genuinely enjoy one another’s company. She was a blast to get to know. Fairly quickly it turned into calls where we’d sleep on the phone together and fantasize about being sleeping together, in more than one way, to be frank.

The biggest sign I could’ve seen was the first time she blocked me. It came shortly after she expressed feelings of being a disappointment and how there’s just generally not much going for her. I offered to be someone to listen to her and insisted that if she wouldn’t tell me that she at least finds someone to talk to. I had created another account to reach out and ask and she was immediately apologetic. I’m just thankful she let me back in at all.

Things were good with us for about a week and then she disappeared. I had been blocked and created another account again to reach out and this time there was no response.

I will be reaching out again soon and hopefully we can talk. Maybe we’ll figure out a better way she can deal with what’s going on without feeling like she’s too much for others or is being a burden.

I suppose there’s only so many takeaways I can conclude.

You can’t have a relationship with someone who doesn’t communicate.

There’s a lot of people out there hurting and don’t know how to handle it. They turn to avoidance as if these problems will go away on their own or they feel as if talking about what’s going on won’t fix anything.

I can only wish that these beautiful people don’t isolate and run away for too long. They’ll always have a home in me as a friend.
