"Pull-Up" before you get lost.

Had a new senior manager cancel the gulf weekend trip due to "Critical Work". We dialed the backup 😁. Got back and rang him up. He was still deep doing grunt/skunk work for his team. I asked - where is your PM. He had side-stepped them. His deep involvement in those technical tasks inadvertently disconnected his operational folks and had him buried. Have you ever crashed out doing someone else's work? What triggered the awareness and pivot?

I Would Not Have Considered That

I hear about the difficulty of landing a job. Sometimes, you gotta do something outside the box or nontraditional to land a decent position. As a career professional, I was pivoting between companies and could not land anything.

So, I delibertly took a PT night security/parking lot attendant position at a hotel. I printed out copies of my resume, placed them in emvelopes and discreetly handed them to drunk executives leaving the bar(s) 😁. You guessed it, after I helped this drunk dude find his room, he thanked me and took my resume. I received a call and a job. So, what unique approach did you do to land that job. Lets help these seekers out.

Can You Help Me Out?

So, a buddy of mine wanted to career pivot and it would cause hardship on his family wife/kids. He aske me and I said, "talk with your wife about it." His response, "she is a SAHM and doesn't know enough about my career, job, or what I do to offer meaningful advice" Question: Men/Women, does your significant other know what you do for work/career. If not, is their input considered, important or even factored in? How did it work?
