Gday lads, My car went to mechanics not long ago for a good check over, there wasn’t many things that it needed but some big ticket items. They were more of a later thing though. They said there’s nothing wrong with the injectors but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get them done, he said the radiator is fine but the plastic on top has changed colour he also mention just doing all the hoses because they’re showing age obviously being 20 yrs old. I got quoted about 4K for the injectors because he said you’d do injectors a pump at the same time, he also said a valve clearance adjustment is a good idea because it’s all apart. Now I don’t have a lot of money so is it worth doing before they go bad, and should I do the rest of the stuff aswell. Cheers

Gday legends, I’ve finally put 6k kms on my new car, well 2005 patrol, I’m going to service it soon. I’m going to do all my oils and filters, I’ll need to do injectors soon but that’s a later problem, my question for yous is, what do you follow when you service your rigs, do you just have a plan you follow, do you just follow the book and repeat it once it finishes or do you just base it of the driving you do? And how often do you service your cars. This sort of stuff is half new to me so I was just wondering what you fellas do. Cheers

So ive just changed the front calipers, because they were cooked, and now ive bled it all, it ate about 500ml. I also tried going back and forth on me drive way to dislodge air bubbles. The problem I have is that the first press of the brake is good and strong than the secound third etc is really stiff, no I think before it did it but it wasn’t nearly as bad. And when it goes stiff it sort of stops 1/4 of the way in and the brakes don’t really work. Is this like maybe a cooked master cylinder? I don’t know what I’m doing which doesn’t help. Car is a 2005 td42 leaf rear. So it has drums at the rear if that means anything. Cheers

After binge watching some YouTube recently it has come to my attention that you need a lot more than just bigger shocks and springs to get a lift, my diff breather lines and brake lines are loose, I have caster correction bushing in the control arms at the front( I think that’s what it’s called) and then the lift (2.5” at front 2” rear with 2” shackle extension). At the rear in the patrol I’ve found there a proportion valve for the brakes. Is there a way to adjust this or do you basically just need like a 70mm extender of the rear diff to raise it up? (Car is an 05 td42ti leaf cab chassis)cheers for any responses
