Question on the intake

Hey guys, so I Saw this intake and I wanted to pick it. I am fully aware that it probably won't give me that much power since it's technically "a hot air intake" but My main reason is for sound sound and aestheticsand my question was will I have to do any retuning to the car and is it worth it for for the 80 bucks I could get for it? My car currently does have a mp215 tune and the montune air box installed

UPDATE: 100% was worth the $80, and it sounds way better than originally expected

Shifter mods impressions

Ever since getting my Fiesta ST as my first car, it’s been an absolute blast. I’ve never once regretted learning manual, even with Seattle traffic. Recently I got the itch to do a few mods without spending a ton, so I decided to improve the shifter feel.

The previous owner already installed an upgraded RMM (rear motor mount), and honestly, I think that’s a huge part of what made everything work so well together. It tightened up the drivetrain and gave the shifts a much more solid and direct feel. After doing more research and driving the car more, I realized the RMM is one of those mods that really ties the whole setup together.

My first personal mod was aluminum shifter base bushings. They were only about $20, easy to install, and gave the shifter a slightly more mechanical and connected feel. Nothing mind-blowing on their own, but definitely noticeable.

Later on, I added a short/quick shifter, also around $20, and that completely changed the experience. It complemented both the bushings and the RMM perfectly. The shifts felt way more raw and precise, and I noticed I could time shifts and rev matches much more consistently. That was something I honestly didn’t expect from such cheap mods.

One tip I’d definitely recommend if you install a short shifter: use blue Loctite on the bolts/set screws. It helps keep everything secure and can save you from having to retighten things later on since the space is so tight in doing so.

I’d definitely recommend pairing the aluminum bushings with a short shifter, but I also think the upgraded RMM deserves just as much credit because it helps bring the entire driving feel together. I also added the Ford carbon fiber shift knob, which made the shifter feel even better and more comfortable in hand.

If you’re looking for affordable quality-of-life mods that make the car feel more connected and enjoyable to drive, I highly recommend this setup. Also, in my opinion, the $20 Amazon short shifters are completely worth it over spending $80+ on a name-brand version.

Thanks for reading!
