Civil Service --> MBA

Has anyone applied to and gotten in to any T20/M7 schools from the non-profit/civil sector (ex. an agency like AmeriCorps)? If so, what parts of your experience did you especially highlight in your essays and resume? Also, for those that have gone into consulting with this background, how did you leverage and frame this experience to get your consulting offers?

Civic Corps Experience

For those that served a term under the NYC Civic Corps program or knows someone who did, what was that experience like? Did the term help you a lot with getting future job opportunities? Did anyone go to grad school (specifically business school) after serving? If so, do you think the experience genuinely helped your application? Also, what did the professional development aspect of the program look like and did you find it professionally beneficial? For further context this wouldn't be an entry level job for me but likely the last job before applying to business school

EA (Executive Assistant) to MBA. How realistic?

I'm in the middle of applying to jobs as I've been unemployed for a few months. One of the positions I'm moving forward for is an EA role to the CEO at a high-performing startup company. I do plan on pursuing my MBA next year and want to apply for round 2 deadlines (around January 2027). Would an EA job not look good on my resume if I want to be competitive for top mba programs? I know schools look at your application holistically but would a role like that be something I should avoid if I'm looking to make my application as competitive as I can. Has anyone gotten into a T25/M7 school after being a former EA? It's also worth noting that if I do get an offer and accept this role, I'd only be at the job for about 4 months before I apply to schools so not sure if that is a negative or a situation where I shouldn't ask my boss for a rec letter given the short tenure of me working there. Happy to hear all thoughts and appreciate the honestly!

Seeking GRE tutor and/or nyc based study group

I'm looking for a GRE tutor with a budget of $20-30 an hour (know this is tight but I'm not really working at the moment) to tutor me once a week for 2-3 hours for the next 2-3 months. I especially struggle with the quantitative section and need basic help with reading comprehension/vocab. For further context, I am applying to business school and need a 320-325 minimum score (with a 160+ in quant) to be competitive for the programs I am applying to. On practice tests, I score between a 298-305. I would prefer virtual sessions but if anyone is based in nyc and can meet in person then that works great! Also, looking for a small study group of ppl based in nyc who want to meet up weekly to study so we can all hold each other accountable.

Has anyone here been or know of anyone who applied for CBS and got waitlisted pre-interview? Were you/them eventually interviewed (if so, around what time did you/they receive an interview invite?) I'm just curious on my chances of getting an interview at this point considering I was a round 2 applicant. Tomorrow, all pre-interview waitlisted applicants who havent heard back since getting waitlisted will know whether they've been released from consideration, remain on the waitlist, or get an interview so I'm trying to be realistic on which bucket I fall in this late in the game considering I still haven't been invited to interview.
