In this video, I give my review for the new Jessica Jones hero from the Fear No Evil wave. I discuss how the hero's mechanics work, how strong I think the hero is for true solo and multiplayer, and how fun I think she is.

When I evaluate a hero's power rankings, these are the categories I look at and why they're important for heroes to have:

Thwart - Statline: It's important to have a high printed THW stat to thwart initial threat off the main scheme/side schemes that start in play. - Control: Being able to mitigate schemes or prevent threat is valuable to let the hero access alter-ego. Confuses would contribute to this sub-category. - Cards: Thwart events, upgrades, supports that aide in threat removal.

Attack - Burst Damage: Valuable to make big pushes late game to avoid villain's final stage's when revealed abilities. This also avoids accumulation of retaliate damage from the villain. - Small Instances: Ping damage is valuable to knock off toughs, take out minions, etc. Piercing would contribute to this sub-category. - Cost: It's important to be able to afford a hero's attacks to clear the board of minions and deal damage when necessary.

Survivability - Identity Card: Having survivability on the identity card is valuable because on round 1 if the player is unable to draw into an ally to block or any other card to prevent damage, having survivability from the get go can prevent a loss. - Cards: This is any card in the hero's kit that adds to survivability. - Healing: Having extra ways to heal outside of the regular basic recovery can help a player get back into a game. If a hero has an on-demand ready, this would contribute to this sub-category.

Economy - Identity Card: Having economy on the identity card is valuable because even without resource generators, the hero still has a boost in helping pay for their hand. - Cards: Any cards in the hero's kit that boosts economy. Double resources and resource generators would contribute to this sub-category. - Cost Curve: The hero's overall cost curve.

Versatility - In-Game: Having the flexibility to do different things in a game is valuable so the hero can adapt to certain situations and deal with anything. - Encounter Card Cancels: Having a way to cancel encounter cards allows the hero to play more recklessly, knowing that they can cancel a potentially game ending encounter card if it's revealed during the encounter phase. - Aspect: Having aspect versatility allows different deckbuilding options and gives the player more flexibility in what cards they can include.

My in-depth review for the Marvel Champions Fear No Evil expansion! In this review, I go over both heroes in the box (Daredevil & Echo), the aspect/basic cards, all 6 scenarios/villains, the modular sets and my thoughts on the new mix and match underling villain main scheme mechanic that was introduced. I also share my opinion on whether or not this is the new best expansion in the game and how it compares to Sinister Motives. Timestamps included for each section!

My review of the new Echo hero! Similar to Daredevil, I found her difficulty to pilot with tons of interesting decision making opportunities not just in-game but in how to deckbuild for her. She has so many aspect hooks being able to copy events but her teamup event with Daredevil ended up being one of my most used/favorites. In my experience, she shines the most in multiplayer when she’s not paying the cost for her own events but using Watch and Learn to steal other player’s events and using Photographic Reflexes for the cost reduction.

Ronan starts the game with his first attack having overkill shredding Daredevil’s life in half. Then he reveals back-to-back Fanaticisms which double surges into an Assault and Gang Up… This is the toughest first round I’ve ever had against Ronan - but is Daredevil up to the task to maneuver out of this?!

In this video, I attempt the 25 blank card challenge with Daredevil!

Instead of building a constructed deck like normal, I’ll only be using Daredevil's identity-specific cards with 25 "blanks" that can only be spent as single resources. Anticipating Daredevil's release, I've mentioned on the channel how he might be the strongest hero for this 25 blank card challenge because of his endless resource sinks through the sense deck/billy clubs and it's finally time to test it out!

In this video, I play Jessica Jones using a protection deck with no allies to take on expert Kingpin. The twist is that we’re NOT building out our DEF or using cards like In Harm’s Way… rather Jessica can just take hits to the face and easily flip down to recover for 4. The goal is to defeat Kingpin without gaining enough Public Support and throw him in jail with enough evidence counters from Alias Investigations.

After playing Daredevil, he ended up not being as strong as I thought he would be. In this video, I talk about my experiences and show highlights of games/sequences with him. I think he’s one of the most difficult heroes to maximize because of his crazy large decision tree, but that decision making is what makes him such a fun hero for me. Because of his relatively simple abilities I think he’s an easy hero for new players to pick up, but extremely difficult to master because of how those simple abilities can chain with one another.

For this Sinister Six themed custom gameplay request fighting Electro at the Raft Breakout with the Sinister Assault minions, I had to of course play Spider-Man! I tried out a powerful combo using Mitigated Threat (from Jessica Jones’ Hero pack) to cancel out the hazard icon on the Symbiote Suit allowing Spidey to gain all the buffs without any of the downsides. And the extra handsize from the suit cancels the tax from Mitigate Threat per round. It worked perfectly with Spidey’s big economy getting the suit down.

In this video, I cover an official ruling issued out by FFG's rules specialist for Marvel Champions regarding the "when defeated" timing trigger in the rules reference guide 1.8 versus Daredevil's senses like Acute Tactility that can trigger when the last threat is removed from attached scheme.

Huge shoutouts to NolanTrapp who sent in the rules question to FFG and shared their response:

"Although When Defeated abilities are a type of Forced Interrupt, they take priority over Interrupts that specifically trigger via the same triggering condition. Acute Tactility’s Interrupt triggers upon the last threat being removed from a scheme, which is an earlier timing point than that scheme being “defeated.” So, if Acute Tactility is attached to Focus the Senses when it’s defeated, Acute Tactility triggers first and discards, which then allows Focus the Senses to put it into play from the Sense deck."

Showing the multi-handed players some love by teaming up the 2 new heroes against expert Bullseye! The Bullseye villain is an ally murderer, Echo has no allies in her precon, and Daredevil’s got his defense sense upgrade to mitigate damage which all led to only 1 ally appearance the whole game. I can really see Tony’s dislike of allies/chump blocking in this box 😂

Learn how to play Daredevil and his sense deck with me as I unbox Fear No Evil and run his Justice precon against expert Klaw!!! My initial impressions are that Daredevil is super fun but way more difficult to pilot and sequence than i expected. There are so many different options of which cards to play each turn because he can always fall back on his sense deck.

My top 10 protection heroes! Decklists are included and linked for each hero mentioned for anyone who wants to try them out. This was the most difficult aspect to list for because protection has so many different archetypes that synergize with different hero kits so I ended up eliminating a lot of duplicate perfect defense heroes for who i thought were the most fun/synergistic in that archetype.
