Friend or foe?

Does anyone know what this little guy is I found on my curtisii? I did buy a Hoya a few weeks back and the seller disclosed springtails, so I am hoping it’s just that. But the Internet is saying it’s thripes so I just want to check in with my Hoya people on Reddit. It ran pretty fast and did not jump. It has antennas and its body is actually paler than it seems in the video. I only saw one. Thank you!

Hoya help!

Posting again, because I am still learning how to use Reddit 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hello fellow Hoya lovers! I am hoping someone can help me troubleshoot these spots on my Australis Lisa. I first noticed the spots at the end of May. I had recently fed it with very diluted Schultz orchid fertilizer drops (0.5-0.5-0.5). I attributed the damage to possible fertilizer burn, sunburn (it was in a very sunny spot), daytime watering with some water left on the leaves, and/or inconsistent watering (I had let it get pretty dry). I moved it to a less sunny spot, flushed it with plain water and made sure it was completely dry after watering. I only water when the top 2 inches of substrate is dry, and it’s in a chunky mix of bark, perlite, and potting soil. It’s an ambient humidity of around 60% and 75°.

The damage seemed to have subsided after the initial black corking and red halo formed. However, I recently got a few more plants and had to re-organize things again. I moved it to a slightly more sunny spot. It seems like the damage might be worsening again. The first photo is from June 2 and the second two pictures are from today. The stem also looks less healthy than the other two clippings in the pot, with some corking and black spots. It is still pushing pretty red leaves, which is why I don’t want to move it to a lower spot on the shelf. But of course I will if the variegated parts of the leaves are getting sun burned.

I am hesitant to cut off the leaves, but I do worry that it is some sort of virus and I should remove them. I am really tempted to pull it out of the pot to look at the roots and repot it into clear plastic, but I don’t want to shock it.

Please let me know what you think!
