Officially on my 3rd trimester today. Demotivated to go to work. [ON]

I work a fairly easy job, as in, right now I quite literally have nothing to do. My last working day would be October 23rd, and admittedly, it’s not that far away now. The only reason I want to work as close to my due date as possible is so I can milk as much money out of my income as I can. My job isn’t high-stress, and I quite literally have nothing to do most of the time. I’m also very lucky to be able to work hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH most of the time.

But I’m so good at guilt-tripping myself into thinking that I’m lucky to have this job and that I earn this much money for basically doing nothing, while also experiencing incredibly painful heartburn and feeling so, so exhausted. I often discredit how tired I am because I feel like I “don’t have the right” to be this tired or complain when I don’t actually do much most of the time. So I feel like I just have to suck it up and go to work for another 2 months.

I’m so conflicted. I’m trying to just take it day by day as much as I can.

I guess my question is, if anyone else had a similar situation at work where they basically had a lot of free time, what did you do with it? I’ve already organized all the baby items and have a whole tracker sheet for everything so we can stay within budget, etc.

Extreme itchiness that keeps me up at night [ON]

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing extreme itchiness on my legs and thighs with no rashes. I've been feeling itchy way way back before today that I've developed scabs on my boobs and legs. I've brought it up to my recent midwife appointment 2 weeks ago and she explained it could just be because my skin is dry and because of increase blood volume and stretching of my skin.

I keep a very routinely body care routine and I am very hydrated and well moisturized especially at night. My husband can attest to me keeping us both up at night because of my incessant itching and scratching.

Last night was probably the worst I've ever had my legs were just tingling and burning and I cannot stop scratching I couldn't go back to sleep. The itchiness literally woke me up and I couldn't find relief so I emailed my midwives at 3 am.

Luckily they called me back this afternoon and reiterated that I should keep drinking more water and try an oatmeal bath or switch to Aveeno products that might help my skin.

Obviously, as one does, I've already searched Google and came across Cholestasis, but I do not have itchiness on my palms or soles, but I atleast want to get blood work done. I will have another appointment with my midwives in the next 3 weeks and if the itchiness doesn't subside I will bring up possibly having a blood test done.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with cholestasis that doesn't necessarily involve itchiness on the palms or soles?

La Petit Ourse Newborn? [ON]

Hi everyone! 😊 FTM here, due in about 4 months. I’m planning ahead for cloth diapering and had some questions for those with experience.

I’m looking at investing in La Petit Ourse (LPO) diapers, but I’m unsure about sizing especially for the newborn stage. Did you find newborn sizes necessary, or did OS (one-size) work from the start?

I’m also planning to start EC (elimination communication) after the first few weeks, but I’ll still need cloth diapers for backup of course.

Would love any advice or experiences especially what worked for you in the newborn stage and how you balanced cloth + EC!

Thanks in advance 💛

▲ 2 r/NIPT

Just had my eFTS ultrasound and bloodwork done yesterday at 12w5d here in Ontario, Canada.

Worried about the abnormal 3.0 mm NT result. I'm 27 years old FTM.

My technician had trouble getting measurements during my ultrasound because my baby was having a party flippin floppin around so it took a really long time, I believe she was still able to take multiple measurements on different positions of the baby.

How worried should I be about this? Bloodwork results won't be availble probably until 2 weeks.

I believe that in Ontario, once you receive a positive or abnormal NT/eFTS result, NIPT would be covered by OHIP.

Just slightly anxious over here!
