Internet Troubleshooting FX4100 vs G5AR
I know very little about internet you'll have to excuse my ignorance.
I've had the FX4100 gateway for about 6 months and its been very inconsistent. Started with great speeds (400+ download) and it declined to 70ish after a few months of use. Atleast once a week our wifi wouldnt work for hours at a time, sometimes with cellular not working as well so wed lose all connection.
We got that gateway replaced with another 4100 and this one might be worse as my iPhone hasnt been able to connect to the 5GHz band, only the 2.4GHz. Our other devices like the TV have been able to connect to the 5GHz band. Our newest problem is the 5GHz band not being available.
I now have a G5AR on the way hopefully that will solve our problems as tech support has told me that the 4100 is problematic and betrer suited for "business" needs and all we need is to stream shows and play games.
Any wisdom is appreciated. Do I need some kind of other modem or router? Idk the right terms
