Oral Minoxidil: 27M, 6’1”, 90 kg (198 lbs). Side effects after increasing oral minoxidil from 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg. Anyone else?

Looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience.
I had a hair transplant on 1 May and started oral minoxidil on 5 June.
I took 1.25 mg daily for a week and honestly felt completely normal. No dizziness, no palpitations, nothing.
After a week I increased to 2.5 mg daily.
Within a few days I started noticing:

●	Waking up with occasional palpitations
●	My breathing while sleeping feels different. It’s hard to describe, but I’m much more aware of it
●	My face seems a little more bloated than usual
●	I get lightheaded more easily if I stand up quickly
●	After drinking alcohol one night, I was lying in bed and could literally feel my pulse throughout my body. I could even feel it through my feet when they were pressed against the mattress
●	During soccer training, my cardiovascular fitness doesn’t seem massively different, but my heart definitely feels like it’s beating harder and a little faster than it normally would for the same effort

I’m otherwise healthy, 27 years old, and don’t have any known heart issues.
Has anyone else had a similar experience after increasing from 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg?
● Did the symptoms settle after a few weeks?
● Did you stay on 2.5 mg or drop back to 1.25 mg?
● Did your body eventually adapt, or did you decide oral minoxidil wasn’t for you?
I’m planning to discuss it with my doctor, but I’d be interested to hear other people’s experiences.

If this is my doner region on day 12, am I likely to lose any more hair here ? I am worried about shock loss and having large patches - 1800 grafts dr Patty

I’m 2 days post-op from a partial shave transplant (~1800 grafts with Dr Patty) and haven’t told anyone. I’m currently in between jobs so I’ve used the time to travel and get it done.

Plan is to rely on longer hair on top to cover it once I’m back, and get a tidy haircut to help blend everything at the 2-3 week mark

For anyone who’s done this:
• Were you able to keep it unnoticed?
• How long until it looked normal enough to pass?
• Did the shedding phase make it obvious?
• Any tips for hiding it during weeks 2–6?

Not against telling people, it’s just I don’t want them constantly checking out my hair in future and have it associated with my personality as very few people have had it done where I am from

I’m considering starting low-dose oral minoxidil (around 1.25–2.5 mg), but I play a repeat sprint sport and I’m curious about any impact on performance.

• Did you notice any change in sprint ability or repeat sprint capacity?
• Any issues with heart rate, fatigue, or feeling off during training or matches?
• Did any side effects settle after a few weeks?
• What dose are you on and how did you start it?

Context:
• Resting HR ~60
• Slightly elevated BP
• On finasteride
• Recently had a transplant, clinic is recommending oral minoxidil

Would appreciate real experiences. Thanks
