How do you ask for the credit card?

The way I ask is I say: “Do you have your tjx rewards card with you today?

Customer says no: “Look today I had a customer and they used 3 of these coupons and they saved $30 on their purchase today.”

I show them a pic of a coupon off my phone.
I lie and say that I have had the card for 2 years now and that every time I shop here I use it to get my rewards.

Customer still says no:
I explain all the benefits really quick and tell them if they apply and if they get approved they get 10% off today or on a future purchase.

Customer says : “But i already have too many credit cards or I don’t really shop here that much”.

“Well if you get approved for the Mastercard, you can use it at any store even outside of the country and you will still be getting your points.”

What do you guys think too misleading or I can ask in a better way?

I hate these managers

A customer asked if we could discount a dress that was already on clearance because it had a big hole. I told her we probably couldn’t and that I was going to call the MOD to check.

The MOD came over and said we could discount it even more. I explained what I had told the customer, and she said annoyed, “That’s why you called me, right? You can’t tell the customer we can’t discount it further.”

These managers are so frustrating. One minute they tell you one thing, and the next it’s something completely different. Since when have we ever given an additional discount on a clearance item?

Next time, I won’t be calling anyone anymore and will be reducing every item by 10% when a customer complains.

Cashiers asking fresh 18 year olds for credit cards sign ups

One thing I hate as a cashier, is seeing another cashier push an 18 year to sign up for the card. Fucking disgusting and desperate.

Whenever there is a teen/young adult checking out, I never ask for them to sign up cause #1 they don’t know anything about their credit and #2 they’re gonna get declined.

But some of these cashiers be desperate asf, today I saw someone push really hard for an 18 year old to sign up and they did. But what pissed me off the most, is when she yelled her name on the radio. “BLANK 1 TJX” with the biggest smile on her face.

Like you’re really happy about fucking up someone’s credit? 🫤

Annoying coworkers

Working at the register is super annoying at times, cause you have coworkers who only want to clean the inside (iykyk), then make you do the messy queue line and sodas.

Like I told them, NO, I’m not gonna clean up the queue line like you always make me do. How about you do them instead of making the new hires DO EVERYTHING? SO FREAKING ANNOYING, cleaning up the inside is super easy while they say they have back problems to get out off doing the soda/queue lines

AND STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!!

Cute guy wanted a refund after 30 days

So this guy came in today wanting to return an unopened machine. It was only 5 days past the 30 day return window, so I told him it’d have to go on a gift card instead of back to his card.

He said he didn’t want a $150 gift card and started flirting with me, telling me to make an exception. 😂 I was blushing with him the whole time.

I was actually about to do it… but my coordinator was standing a few feet away from me. I asked her, and she was said no.💀😂

And btw after I gave him the gift card, I asked him if he wanted to sign up for the tjx rewards card and he said he would’ve if I would’ve refunded it to his card. 😂😂

Feeling good after getting cards

Does anyone feel good when they get a card? Lately I’ve been getting 2 cards daily as a part timer.

Everyone gets super happy when I get one, the sm who’s never here, came up to me and shook my hand saying “keep up the good work”. One other manager said that last month my cards have gone up at lot, compared to my first 2 months. I average about 1 card daily.

Feel a bit bad for customers who’s credit is gonna drop cause they applied.

Leaving way before schedule time

Today we left way earlier than our scheduled time.
Like 45 mins before. Can they do this? They said they’re cutting hours, but on WorkJam it still says the original time.

Just went to JCPenney

Compared to the Tjx rewards program, $35 dollars of your first purchase WOW!

I always get coupons and the rewards here a lot compared to Marshall’s.

Store manager on vacation AGAIN

Is anyone’s store manager on vacation again? This is like my managers 4th time going on vacation this year.

I’ve prolly only seen my manager 5 times actually be there in the night this year.

Well at least it’s for the better if he was here, He would be on the radio begging everyone to ask for the cards since it’s part of our “participation”.

My store is not a bad one

I got 27 hours this week at Marshalls as a part timer, I was scheduled 21 hours originally but got called 2 times to come in. I started in Nov. My store is a busy one, we get a lot of tourists and we’re supposed to get 10 tjx daily to meet our goal. So we don’t get a lot of payroll cuts. The worst schedule if I ever gotten was 12 hours back in Early Feb.

Most ppl here are amazing, I only do register thank goodness. It’s annoying that they don’t tell things, then you get in trouble for it. Like you never told me that??

Overall, it’s not that bad just low wage. $14/hr which is basically $13/hr after what they take out.
