Support Groups - DV

Hi Bozeman.

I’m wondering if there are any survivors of domestic violence in the community who find themselves wishing we had more in-person community support. There are so many of us who have experienced domestic violence, and, at the same time, it can be one of the most isolating experiences. I think I’d benefit from an in-person support group, and I imagine others feel the same way, whether their experience happened years or months ago or is ongoing.

If enough people are interested in this type of support group, I’m hoping I could find a space for us all to meet and support each other.

I’m asking this question here because I have explored the locally available options. Haven is an amazing resource for certain situations, and I’m grateful we have it. However, their support group is limited to a virtual option, and that simply isn’t as helpful as meeting other survivors in person. In my opinion, the way people support each other in person is dramatically different from being online. If there is an in-person support group for survivors of domestic violence that I have not been made aware of, please share.

If you don't have anything kind or relevant to say, please just scroll on.

Feel free to message me if you are interested but uncomfortable commenting.
