As a woman, i don't think they look as bad as people make them out to be. Don't see many skinnies nowadays in college at least. I actually prefer them over baggier looks. Can't speak for men though.
I find it really comfortable to sleep in skinny jeans. I know most people hate them for being uncomfortable, but honestly i like the tight feeling of the fabric and pressure on my thighs and legs (as a girlie). My favorite pairs are AE skinny and levi's mile high super skinny. I think it's the hugged cozy feeling i like along with its stretch. I prefer them over shorts or pjs on most days.

May be a controversial opinion but ripped skinny jeans (coming from a gen z girl). For us girls at least. Idk i find them so cute when paired with an oversized hoodie. I definitely prefer them over the current baggy or wide leg jeans. They just don't flatter my legs and butt as much. The rips also add a bit of flavor and uniqueness imo.
