Found out the coworker i thought was cool is *chugging* that kool-aid fml

I have a coworker that I have made friends with because she is a very nice and seemed open minded compared to a lot of very conservative people where we work (a lot of upper management go to the same church even). Recently we were hanging out and she told me how *wise* our privileged Big Boss was..

Her reasons as to why Big Boss is a genius God King rather than someone just born with money and connections:

  • He studied law and looks at things from that perspective! Like how the HR director was hired despite being forced out of previous jobs for allegations of mistreating employees - 'cause that's not *illegal* so it's fine!
  • Him just studying law and seeing things from "both sides" - she can't tell if he's a republican or Democrat! (I studied polisci so I can say he's def a republican. He thinks people just don't like Reagan for his personal beliefs...)
  • He supports certain programs (that just happen to be related to his rich people hobbies like planes)
  • He let's her take PTO (wtf)
  • He actually responds to her questions because the bar is in hell apparently

Capitalism is just Fuedalism with extra steps fml

Bought a wig for an old Hollywood look, but it's giving Toddlers in Tiaras.. help.

Hey everyone. I've just recently gotten into wigs due to hair loss from an illness, so I've been researching what I could and went to a wig shop to speak with some people there about some basic info.

The ones I got at the wig shop are more casual, but I ordered the Vintage Rider unit from Sensationnel since it has an old Hollywood look based on the picture and reviews. Unfortunately, it's looking too big and almost like pageant hair for me.

Is there a way to smooth it out a little? I was debating spraying it with water or using a steamer while combing it, but I wasn't sure if that would work out well... Any input would be great pls.

edit: I'm gonna try to send a link since my photos won't attach...

Help - My Acne and oily skin is unbearable in this weather and nothing is helping my undereye circles

I am at my limit with trying to treat or even hide my acne, since my makeup just deteriorates with how oily my skin has been. I double cleanse and use the blue Perfect Whip face wash, but my skin looks like when I was a teenager using nothing but Seabreeze for some reason.

Even more frustrating is makeup cannot even stick to temporarily hide anything, even my undereye circles despite it being a drier area. I have been having ongoing health issues that are likely contributing, but I'm desperate for something I can do in the meantime. I've started taking a multivitamin with iron, since my diet has been a mess due to my illness, and some of my meds cause my mouth to get dry so I do drink a lot of water. I am considering a brightening/whitening eye cream by Meishoku, but I am unsure if that will help or not.

I feel like I look like a walking corpse, so any advice would be great pls.

Contour that isn't warm?

I love an affordable contour, but I am cool toned and unfortunately anything with warm or bronze tones look awful on me. I saw the LA Colors duo contour more recently and the crayon type, so does anyone know if any of these could work?

Thx in advance!

Realized I'm based being gaslit by my boss and others in my office

I have been trying to do what little I can to help my deteriorating mental and physical health, but it is so hard in a toxic job that treats you like you aren't even human. At first I thought I was forgetting things and blamed myself, like thinking I must have forgotten about a deadline date, then I started making clear notes for myself... things aren't matching up.

Last week was kinda the big eye opening event. My boss just casually mentioned a certain report coming up, which I let her know I was aware of and started working on what I could. I need certain data from a different department so when I asked my coworker, L, in that department early last week she said they were still putting the data together which I get- it's a time consuming project from my understanding. My boss suddenly approaches me Thursday asking about the report because the preliminary numbers are needed by Monday, which she never mentioned at all previously. I told her about the other department needing to prepare the data and she was upset with me

So I go back to L, tell her I need what data she has because my boss wants it Monday. L is really annoyed and tells me the data is incorrect at this point, but gives me it anyway. I make sure to note on the printed report with the data she gave me that she told me this, including the exact date and time I talked to L about this. Later I have a question, so I talk to L and ask her for a rough idea when the info will be correct. She acts confused and tells me that it is already pretty correct, there just might be small changes - literally the opposite of what she told me before.

Since then I realized other things aren't adding up and I noticed my boss asking for impossible tasks. For example, she told me in the beginning of last week that one of the reports was due "in two weeks" - this is completely wrong based on information from the state about these reports AND THE DATA NEEDED WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NEAR THE END OF THIS MONTH.

I am so tired of this aging mean girl office politics bs, but right now I have medical issues that I need the job for plus a potential legal matter involving someone associated with my work injuring me so I can't just leave. It's completely ruining my mental health and I'm in a dark place because no one seems to gaf about me as a human being, I'm just a tool for the machine.
