Looking for a lost StereoBar / Stereo Montreal 2005 promo CD (DJ Saturnin?)
Hey everyone,
I’m on a mission to track down a piece of Montreal club history that was unfortunately stolen from me years ago, and I'm hoping some old-school Stereo heads might be able to help me out.
Back in March 2005, @ StereoBar with a friend when someone handed us an official StereoBar mix CD. I listened to it for almost a year until it was stolen. At the time, I was running with a questionable crowd and living a chaotic lifestyle, so the disc vanished before I could back it up. Now that I’ve moved past that chapter of my life, I’m trying to reclaim some of the good memories, and this music is a huge piece of the puzzle.
It was a full mix—probably around 9 to 11 tracks total. I can't remember the full tracklist, but thanks to some digging, I’ve been able to pinpoint two massive tracks that were definitely on it:
Röyksopp - "What Else Is There?" (Trentemøller Remix) – specifically during the breakdown with the "And the flashlights..." lyrics.
A heavy tech-house track using the iconic Chicago house vocal sample: "It was about 6:15 in the morning. I'm drunk, and I'm high, and I'm in Chicago. And I walked to the corner to hail a cab..." (Either a live mashup, or a track built around it like Neelix's "Taxi Driver").
The Details:
Venue/Date: Inside Stereo / StereoBar (Montreal), specifically around March 2005. But
The mixed CD: I’m pretty sure it was DJ Saturnin
Someone must have this ripped onto a hard drive somewhere. If anyone remembers this specific mix, has the files, or could upload it to a Google Drive to share, it would honestly mean the world to me.
Thanks in advance!
