My front lever after 4 months of training, form?

I started calisthenics in *April 2026*.

After 1 month of base training I went straight to skills. First thing I tried was *tuck front lever*. It was bad. Back rounded, shoulders up, shaking after 2 seconds. But I kept going.

April to May was only tuck lever. 5-6 sets every session. Max holds. I learned to depress my scapula, pull my chest up, and squeeze my core. Tuck lever rows, scap pulls, hollow holds. 3s. 4s. 5s.

In June I moved to *advanced tuck*. Feet further out, way harder. First holds were 2 seconds. I added one-leg lever and banded full lever to feel the straight line. Also trained pullups and rows heavy. You need strong lats for this.

July was grind mode. Hybrid plyo in the morning, lever work at night. 4-5 days a week. Dragon flags, L-sits, handstands. Everything to support the lever. There were weeks with zero progress but I didn’t stop.

Then *August 2026*.

4 months after my first tuck lever, I hit a *full front lever for 8 seconds*.

Clean. Straight body. Parallel to the ground. No bands.

How?

  1. *Consistency*. Showed up 4-5x a week no matter what.

  2. *Progressions*. Tuck → advanced tuck → one leg → straddle → full. Don’t skip.

  3. *Technique*. Chest up, lats down, posterior pelvic tilt. Form first.

  4. *Patience*. Progress isn’t linear. You’ll have bad weeks.

I’m 17. Not genetically gifted. Just consistent.

Next goals: 20 second hold, straddle front lever, planche.

If you’re stuck on tuck lever right now, keep going. That’s where I started too. Film yourself, fix one thing each week, and don’t quit.

Started in April. Got 8s in August. We’re all gonna make it.

Middle finger front lever. Never did specific finger training, just calisthenics.

**My Progress Timeline:**

Started late March 2026 with only 7 pull-ups. Couldn't even do 1 front lever.

By May 2026 I got my first 1 second middle-finger front lever.

Took 20 days off for exams, was scared I'd lose strength.

Trained all summer 2026 at home on my charpai setup. No gym, no equipment, just bodyweight.

Now August 2026 I can hold a clean 3+ second middle-finger front lever.

**About the training:**

I never did specific finger or grip training. Just consistent calisthenics - pull-ups, rows, front lever progressions, and core work.

I trained 4-5 times per week.

I’m really proud of this progress. Rate my genetics and let me know what I should do next to get a longer hold.
