Stepmom blues
Is there anyone else that is a stepmom and doesn’t have their own kids?
I’m super struggling with this role. It’s causing some feelings of resentment and jealousy to surface.
I resent always being #2
I resent being expected to watch his son when he works because I work from home. (Summer break is the worst)
I feel jealous that he will always have this bond with the mother because of their shared child even though they do not get along.
I take “our son” as a dig at me. And, I know it’s not.
Most of my stepmom friends have a child with their husband and so the dynamic is a bit different.
