Update: Mercury smartcraft installation

I wanted to update a recent post I made regarding Mercury smartcraft data integration at the helm that I posted here: https://www.reddit.com/r/boating/s/fO9dixfviO

TLDR, smartcraft data is what is fed into Mercury AGI (analog gauge interface, confirmed w Mercury tech support).

I installed a 4 port junction box and a new Mercury smart craft connect that feeds both Bluetooth and data into NMEA2000 backbone.

After installation, I set up the module using Mercury manager app and specified “Mercury” as the engine type in the Raymarine MFD.

I now have Mercury vessel view integrated information on my MFD, including troll control, and am very stoked about all of it. DM me any questions if you’re considering a similar install!

Is my swim ladder installed on the wrong side?

I’ve been curious about my swim ladder because it’s installed on the underside of the teak platform, but most of the pictures I see have the ladder installed on the top side. Picture on the left is my boat and the other picture is from the web. Does anyone know if this is just optional or there’s a correct way? Thanks!

Anyone familiar with Mercury analog gauge interface (AGI)?

Anyone familiar with this device? The blue arrow points to the output from the AGI to the gauges (I think), and the harness connected to the AGI has a 10-pin input (orange arrow). This 10-pin connects back to the main engine harness. My main question: is the orange arrow harness carrying smart craft data? Can I place a junction box between the connections to add more smart craft enabled devices? Thanks!!

Do I already have Mercury smartcraft at the helm?

Hi, I’m trying to determine if I already have Mercury smartcraft data at the helm from my 2019 150hp outboard because I’d like to install a smartcraft connect module without having to run an additional cable from the engine. Appreciate any knowledge or advice you can share!

Current set up:
There is a 14-pin harness from engine to the helm (part 84-896537A20) and it seems to have a 10-pin plug connected to a Mercury analog gauge interface (AGI part number 8M0033330). The AGI feeds my analog gauges. I think the AGI requires smartcraft input but I’m not certain.

I’d like to install a 5 port junction box at the helm and connect a smartcraft connect module to feed engine data into the NMEA2000 backbone already installed (which connects my MFD and GPS/AIS radio).

I already have vessel view mobile under the cowl so I know the engine is smartcraft enabled. I’m just wondering if the 10-pin that branches off the 84-896537A20 is smartcraft data.

Thanks!!
