9 year old learning bass at school - can he also learn acoustic at the same time?
Hi all, hoping to get some advice for my son.
He's recently started electric guitar lessons at school - we assumed he was learning 6 string but it turns out he's been put on the bass as part of the band. Personally I think he should stick with the bass as I've always thought it was the coolest (plus I secretly wanted to learn it with him!) but he wants to be able to play and sing so is really keen to learn the acoustic guitar (he's been inspired by you-know-who).
Would getting him an acoustic to practise at home interfere with learning the bass at school? Or could it compliment it? Unfortunately it's too late for him to switch instruments in his "band", but I'm keen for him to get the buzz of playing his own instrument as I never learnt anything and regret it!
