How are your fairways set up?

I find a lot of overlap in the 6.5-10 speed range in terms of stability, distance potential and actual course utility.

What do you bag in these ranges and how do you choose between similar speeds and stabilities?

Don't just list your discs, how did you build to your current lineup? How far you throw is helpful as well.

I've landed on kind of a split across speeds and stabilities, but still have some overlap to work out.

I have slower understable discs (6.5, 7 speed), traditional 7 speed for straight, and faster for moderate overstability and utility overstability (9).

Slower discs makes turning shots more predictable and hold longer with less fade and skip. Faster discs, especially a Roman or Thunderbird over a Teebird, has more utility in wind and reliable fade when throwing hard at a line/gap. They all end up with similar distance potential, save for the firebirds.

I also bag Trails, but they overlap in line and distance with my fairway and Wraiths.

Black locust worlds layout playable?

I'm looking to head that way this weekend or next. I see that the layout is finalized, but wondered if it is open to public play leading up to worlds.

Okay, fine, the Bokeh is a good disc

I enjoy watching Simon unbox a new SimonLine disc, explain what it's going to do, then throw it... And see a very different flight than described.

Timelapse and 3 versions of Balance, of course - but also the signature Tesla that led to him swapping to the Volt. And the flippy Bokeh. The micro expressions on his face in these moments! "Here we go again..."

Described as a more stable Crave (which the servo doesn't quite achieve), but flying like a longer Detour. I saw a lot of discfluencers throw this Leopard flying disc and low-key gaslight us on the stable flight... Until the stock run comes, and the tune changes to "corrected the understability of the first run to match the flight numbers"...

Most consistent brand in the sport 😂

Anyway, I like to try new discs. I picked up a Bokeh along with some Craves recently.

God damnit, it's a good disc. Squarely in 7/10 Teebird territory. It's going long, straight, gliding, with a moderate fade. It's also going FAR, and that's what's piqued my interest.

It's getting to the landing spots I'm used to from my 9 speeds, and even a bit past my usual Wraith range on a couple holes.

I've been truly wowed by three MVP discs so far. Envy that gave me a fresh Wizard driving putter with a clean release. Hex, that did the same to the Buzzz. And, sneakiest of all, Proxy. It went from being a "just" a way to have a seasoned (premium) Envy, to being my all. time. most. thrown. disc.

Not saying the Bokeh is up there just yet, but it's very fun to throw. I put my distance discs away for the last few rounds, and just throwing these.

High PLH Craves

Browsing discs online, I noticed that the recent refresh of craves looked a bit different. Sure enough, over on 1010 discs, the PLH is higher on these than other recent runs.

Pictured Crave on the left vs stock Bokeh, which seems to be stabled up as well. Crave is looking a bit higher.

I won't be able to throw mine for a bit, anyone else have craves from this new PLC proton run? How they flying?

Prelude to a lost disc

Teebird didn't hold the turn on this downhill 880', and there was no ground to catch it when it faded out. I searched but did not find.

TRAVESTY! I sailed one of my 15 year old pink Wizards on hyzer into a right to left wind, and plunk into a silty river.

These Wizards were molded to my hands from years of use.

But, letting no good crisis go to waste, I get to ply my sadness with retail therapy.

Watts felt good, straight and low effort in premium plastic, we'll see how they do in baseline tomorrow.

If Luna's are good enough for the GOAT, they should be good enough for me.

Not shown, a pair of pink roaches. Pretty similar to the Luna's in feel.

I predict I'll be back with a fresh pair of Wizards in about 6 weeks after sailing SO many puts long and missing the comebacker because they don't have that Wizard Drop.

My buddy and I both got Anagrams a couple weeks ago.

Im using mine as an ampless studio tool, and no complaints beyond noise when USB is attached.

My buddy is the actual bass player and wants to use it as a multiFX with his GK amp.

First thing we notice is that a blank present is not unity volume. Db meter in the room shows ~15 dB drop vs plugging direct in. It's not hitting the preamp on the GK nearly as hard, changing the tone. We're just using passive Jazz Basses, so that amt of input attenuation is surprising.

Seems like I can make it up with a gain block, but it feels weird to have to do that.

Am I missing some out of the box setting or what?
