When do I receive my health insurance through Quest?

I remember seeing on the offer letter that they provide health insurance starting day 1, but nobody has mentioned it yet, and I need to cancel my Medicaid no more than 30 days after starting a new job. I cannot be without health insurance due to medical reasons. Also, how about the scrub stipend? I feel so lost about anything related to benefits... I received an email with a couple of dates from HR for a welcome presentation, but it is mostly in Eastern time, and I am in CA so I would have to be in the meeting like 3 or 5am

CA tax board sent a legal order to my bank

At the time, I only had $35 in my account, and they will hold it until August 12 unless they receive a release from the CA tax board. I haven't filed taxes in over 5 years, though I did my 2025 and 2024 returns this year. I received a letter asking how I calculated mileage for gig work, so I printed all my Grubhub delivery records, since they don't provide an estimate, and sent that documentation to them. They also sent a letter warning that if I don't file my 2022 taxes, they will assume I owe $8,000, since that was the year I earned the most. I checked the box requesting an extra month to file, so I believe I have until August 27.

This past Friday, they took the $35 that was in my account, and now I'm afraid to keep using it, since the legal order was for $3,700. Is it ok for me to open a new bank account to avoid this order? I was unemployed for over a year and just found a job starting August 17, but I can't afford to keep having my money taken. I also don't understand how they arrived at the $3,700 figure

Also are those tax forgiveness ads real?

Help!!! someone is charging my bank named legal order lts

I don't know who this is. I searched my county court website, and there is no new lawsuit other than the one I am currently fighting, so shouldn't they not be able to garnish my wages before a verdict? I am getting my life together to file for bankruptcy, but before that, I want to secure housing, as the legal aid lawyer advised me that bad credit is okay, but bankruptcy can be more damaging. How can I find out who is taking money? They took less than $50, so I believe it might be something recurring, because every credit card balance I owe is way more than $50, and I also owe taxes. The IRS sent my tax debt to a collection company, and next week I received a letter from the collection company saying they sent it back to the IRS. Can I open a new bank account? Can I stop this nightmare?

I am not going to use Preply anymore for English

every tutor in this plataform are new to teaching online. It is like I want to move abroad and dont have a job. I see people like former lawyers and educators but they do not know how to teach or they do not want to put the effort. Most of them want to talk like they are talking with a stranger on the bus stop. No meaning, no teaching, and no structure. If you want a structure class I would recommend looking on other tutors plataforms, make sure that they have extensive rating (dont even make me start the inflated rating preply tutors get for begging their students to rate them). Remember if your solenly goal is to talk without meaning go play video game with Americans, go to discord channels and talk, go to your local idiom school and find out what language the students speak. Do not spend money if you are not going to learn NOTHING!!!!

How long do I need to work in labs like Quest or LabCorp to qualify to work at a hospital in CA?

I finally received my first phlebotomist job offer from a lab, and I was wondering how much experience I need to qualify to apply to work at a hospital? They pay almost double what I am going to make

I have court on my first day

I got a job offer, and my first day of work is scheduled on the same day that I have court. My shift is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and my court hearing is at 3:30 p.m. Ideally, I would need to leave work at least 40 minutes early to make it on time. How should I handle this? I don't want to tell the recruiter because I'm worried they'll think I'll be a problem since I already have another commitment on my first day. Does anyone have any advice? This is my first phlebootmy job 😭

Does anyone else have funny zippers?

Unfortunately, all my hoodies have zippers, and I never noticed a bad smell coming from them until recently. It's the same smell coming from all the zippers. I've tried different laundry detergents and laundry detergent boosters, but nothing has worked. I even applied 70% alcohol directly on the zipper after washing, the smell might be a little less noticeable, but even without wearing it, the smell starts again. Is anyone else experiencing this?

if I start working and making 26 per hour, can I still pass the means test for chap7?

I would like to delay my bankruptcy until next year for personal reasons, and I was wondering: if I start working, is the means test an average of the previous 6 months? Or is it based on an estimate of the future remaining months that I will be working? Also, is $26 an hour too much to pass the means test in CA? Will the means test minimum requirement increase in 2027?

Any app where I can pick my schedule as a new grad?

I thought CNA would be a more flexible job, but after seeing someone post that hospitals often prefer to hire CNA who are ready to work full-time rather than students, and after experiencing how inflexible the nursing homes around me have been about letting me work part-time, I started wondering if there is an app similar to Uber where I can browse available CNA shifts and choose the ones that fit my schedule. I'm in CA btw

After months applying, I finally got an interview!

Does anyone who works for Quest or has had an interview with them and want to share what they asked or anything that I should be prepared for?

I feel like most tutors do not fit in tutoring

I have had several trial lesson and subscribed with a promised of an amazing lesson. I do not want free speech and I kept clearly in the message before booking the trial and emphasized in the trial. Some people just want money and do not have any other way to get it as I have seem people from US (of course I am only taking American tutors) and LIVING in the US charging less than the minimum wage of their state sometimes. Plz find other ways to get money rather than waste student time that wants to learn

Grubhub does not provide a mileage estimate. How can I show proof?

I bought a car in May of last year, and after a car accident, I sold it in December. I had only one oil change after 5,000 miles, but I think it was more than that. Can I send all my bank statements showing the amount I spent on gas? if I cant prove they will just put 0 miles?

What do you learn in physio?

I passed anatomy with a C and I want to prepare myself for physiology this fall, but every video I see on YouTube is anatomy and physiology and I feel like the content is the same that I studied in anatomy. Is there anything that I can "pre-study"?

After many years of not filing my taxes, I filed for 2025 and it backfired

I only filed 2025 because I am getting ready for a bankruptcy and it is a requirement to have at least the previous year filed (preferably be up to date with all taxes) that is what the lawyer told me. I went to a place that helps low income people for free, and now I received two letters from the California Franchise Tax Board asking for proof of my expenses as a DoorDash driver and other apps. I did an estimate but I think that is a tax audit. I also received a letter from the IRS saying that I owe $1k, but I do not see which year it is related to, because for 2025 I owed $300 which was paid, and for 2024 it was $500 that I was unable to pay. I also tried to file for 2023 and 2022 but apparently I unfortunately had less than $100 yes, less than $100 worth of bitcoin, and the place does not help at all if there is crypto. Also, the California Franchise Tax Board asked me to file for 2022, which was the year that I made the most money as an independent contractor, with no mention of 2023 or 2021. I called the place that helped me file and they told me that the tax person is only there at the beginning of the year and they cannot help me. I am not sure if I can go to jail if I don't have proof of the miles that I allegedly added as an expense. I don't know what to do

What can I do? I cannot find this course in my past enrollments on Canvas like every other course I have taken

I have been having sleep issues because of a class I took last fall. On the last day, the professor simply closed the course, and I never found out my final grade for the final lab exam. He lost my first lab exam, and after I complained, I believe he just assigned a random grade. How am I supposed to know whether he even graded my final lab exam? This professor was one of the most unprofessional instructors I have ever had. He was a chiropractor teaching Human Anatomy. His teaching style consisted of assigning YouTube videos that were over seven years old while he sat at his desk wearing headphones and let students do whatever they wanted. Attendance was not necessary at all except for lab exams. Only the labs, midterm, and final were in person, and I believe many students may have cheated on the written online exams. I received a C in the class, and I am still very frustrated about the situation. I know it has been months, but I still feel the need to do something about it. During that time, I met with an academic counselor and complained about the professor. The counselor discovered that he did not even have his required office hours posted, which is mandatory for all professors, and the counselor contacted the dean. Now I am wondering what to do next. One option is to contact the dean and request access to all of my grades from the class. However, I am also concerned that if the dean contacts the professor directly and requests the grades, the professor may simply make up a grade that keeps my final result as a C, and I would have no way of knowing. I want to ensure that there is a process in place that prevents him from being able to alter or fabricate any grades going forward, as I no longer trust that his records accurately reflect my actual performance in the course

English is my second language and I found this retire lawyer that is teaching Englsih. I was amazed how good he is. Before our first day he texted me and asked what field I work so he preper his lessons for this field and during the article that we read togheter he always had some random but extremely interesting fact to add. Since he is a lawyer I was wondering if you could help me organize my thoghts like a lawyer do and try to see both side of issues. He asked me if want to learn something especifc to tell him next lesson but he is a tax lawyer and I do not want to learn about tax 😅. I am pretty sure that he still knows how to create arguments and discreable the other side right? he is also very CHEAP I am pretty sure that he is not doing this for money so I also do not want to take his enjoyment. Any advice? I just want to increase my critical thinking like a lawyer
