Psychology and English (May 21st Shift 1)

Psychology: easy to moderate (imo)

Paper was smooth, one emotional/social competence question stumped me, I went back and forth to change answers multiple times and I can’t even recall what my final answer was, lol. The question was worded kinda weird which baffled me tbh.

A lot of questions from attitude and intelligence (like who gave this definition of intelligence) questions came in this shift. There were two case study type passages, one from chapter 3 (meeting life’s challenges) and the other one was from psychological disorders (about panic disorder and SAD), the disorder one was a little tricky but totally doable. The paper was pretty chill.

English: Supremely easy

Vocab was repeated mostly from PYPs and earlier shifts, and idioms were in match the following. There were only two RCs: one was direct, simple and easy, the other one was fairly easy as well but there was some ambiguity in the options for one question.

Vocab (from memory):

Obstreperous
Recalcitrant
Amiable
Ebullient
Deleterious
Disdain
Philately
Pilfer
Subtend
Furtherance
Retraction
Hamlet
Felicitousness
Forbearance
Octogenarian
Petulance

Idioms (from memory):

In a brown study
To flog a dead horse
Took to his heels
To take your hat off
Fair weather friends

That’s all I can remember.

I swear I’ve never felt more defeated in my life, I was SO close to getting perfect scores in both the papers but I made the silliest errors; one in psychology and about two in English. English was too easy so normalisation will slash my score anyway. I really hope those dumb mistakes don’t cost me my dream college - I worked so hard (signs in partial dropper agony).

This was my first CUET exam and I’ve got two more to go, I should just focus on that, lol.

Did my service to this community!🙇🏻‍♀️

HELP!😭

I just took the AITs for my two exams (double shift) which are on the 21st, and the results baffled me. I scored 190+ and 200+ consecutively in the two tests and I’ve never scored this low. Treated it like the actual exam and everything - Is this the sole determinant of how I’ll perform in the actual exam? I feel like an absolute buffoon.

Also, I messed up with the back to back test thing. I figured that the next exam’s paper would come up when I submitted the first one but apparently the two papers were consolidated and only the first one was evaluated, I went back and manually selected the other one and attempted it. Can anyone who has taken the exam confirm if this is how it works? Are the papers consolidated and once you click on submit all the papers get submitted?

Is it over for me?

Treated it like the actual exam and everything - Is this the sole determinant of how I’ll perform in the actual exam? I’m so done. Should I just give up?

What’s up with all the cut off predictions?

I think that it’s too soon to predict anything for any stream right now. Let the exams be over; speculate all you want after the 31st and before the results come out. Anyway, cutoffs either increase or stay the same - they rarely ever decrease. Posts like “cUtOfFs WiLl gO sO hIgH tHiS yEaR” just feel like unnecessary fearmongering.

Just be confident and take the exam, and if you’re done with your exams, then chill out for a hot minute before the results come out. At the end of the day, the body that conducts this exam is the NTA, and pigs will fly before anyone predicts their next move, or anything they do for that matter.

I took ‘consistency is key’ a little too seriously.😭

I’m SO close to getting a perfect score, yet SO far away.😔
