besides wilson of course. house only hired people that he found interesting, and they often found him interesting in return but the show did a good job of establishing that that’s not the same as friendship

with thirteen he seemed to not only find her interesting, but genuinely enjoy her company, and he went far out of his way to involve himself in her personal life

there are also a few parallels between house’s relationship with thirteen and his friendship with wilson. house and wilson met when house bailed wilson out of jail at a conference- house later picked thirteen up from jail.

wilson and thirteen also both end up with fatal diagnoses, and house takes it upon himself to agree to be the last one with them in their final moments.

if you think about wilson and thirteen as his only friends it’s actually so fucking heartbreaking that he had to see them both go like that.

i just watched trust no 1 (9.06) and have some questions but frankly have been confused for awhile

spoilers incoming for everything up to this ep

why did mulder have to go again in season 9 ? i know the real answer is probably that david wanted to be gone but what is the plot reason? i thought this all had to do with scully and her baby why is he the one in danger? either mulder or her baby has to die like ?? literally what are they taking about 🫩

this also leads into the show’s like main can of worms but i am also so lost about what aliens even are at this point. i thought the aliens were the shapeshifters who bled green and that you had to stab in the back of the neck with the special knife? so who are these unkillable metallic ppl? i thought these super soldiers were former abductees who were returned like mulder almost turned into but now they’re all kinds of people like a guy doggett has known forever?

and scully’s baby is………?

and why is scully now like the x files consultant and not just doggett’s partner? if she’s on maternity leave she seems to be working as much as ever

anyway i would love y’all’s help if i’ve lost the plot, if the answer is that i just need to keep watching pls don’t spoil it i’ll hang in there but if stuff just isn’t clocking to me i fear my confusion will only grow

unrelated the guest stars in this episode were particularly off the charts. 3 ppl from the west wing and john locke from lost??

i just watched 8.04 but the partner dynamic honestly seems so much healthier with scully in the “mulder” role

she called doggett having gone off on some weird solo mission over the weekend and now needs him to do some menial task but somehow the vibes just feel so much nicer and less manic than when mulder did the exact same thing. which also scully did this one time and immediately apologized and promised not to do it again

for his part doggett also seems more open minded and less combative than scully ever was with mulder idk they just seem like a much better team

i just feel like scully and doggett are great for the x files and mulder should be scully’s conspiracy theorist house husband who she consults regularly

my mom was an fbi special agent in dc for 25 years. never saw her go to work in anything other than cargo pants, boots, and a flexible blouse/button down. a pencil skirt and heels? when you whip your gun out and run around every single day?

i’m watching for the first time and am on season 4 and for the most part really like it but mulder is driving me absolutely bananas

he is constantly hanging up on scully or wandering off or sprinting away on a whim in a literal combat situation and just generally leaving scully behind when she is the only person trying to help him

and he’s so condescending about how she needs to “just believe” and i get the whole science vs belief conceit of the show but it seems like a one-sided debate bc scully literally does believe she’s just like “okay well if a folktale did come to life and is killing people let’s figure out how it works”, a thought process that has saved mulders life so many times already

idk am i missing something about his character? if he treated scully the way she treats him they would be unstoppable imo
