My sister and I got into an argument weeks ago because she constantly makes weird jokes “shipping” me or even my dad with random guys just to embarrass us. One day I sarcastically responded to shut her up and now she keeps bringing it up in front of people to embarrass me every chance she gets.

The problem is I never actually exposed or insulted her publicly, but she acts like I did because I once brought up a situation where she kissed a girl at a bar while drunk. She eventually told our mom herself, but now she keeps acting like I’m the reason the whole thing became a topic.

I already tried talking to her calmly and she just dismisses it and keeps doing it. At this point it’s less “sibling teasing” and more intentionally trying to humiliate me in front of others.

How do you deal with someone who keeps weaponizing one joke/conversation against you for weeks?

And why is she doing this? its so fucking annoying
