Build Improvement

Build Improvement

I seem to have hit a wall in my pursuit for the ultimate Alhaitham... I'm not too sure how I can improve my build other than getting more ATK. My luck with artifacts has been abyssmal recently and nothing I get even comes close to what I have now.

I run him with Columbina, Lauma, and Raiden. My Kuki is only C2 so I don't really use her. I also have Ineffa but I've heard she's not that great with Alhaitham.

Please find my build below! I'm back after a long hiatus and I'm very behind on all the new mechanics, so I'd appreciate any feedback :)

501 -> 520 testing 8/22

am i cooked gang?

Last month before any content review I got a 496 (121/124/125/126) on the Blueprint half length and a 488 (122/122/121/123) on TPR Review Test 1.

I've been doing some Ucheese questions (about 20 daily) and made some big mind maps/flow charts for all the topics (except P/S, I haven't really looked at that yet). I was also doing JW CARs every day but I've been slacking off for the past 2 weeks.

I just took the Kaplan FL 7 and got a 501 (125/124/128/124). I felt a lot more confident about the questions and I definitely thought over my answers more. For every question I was debating between 2 answers, but I ended up picking the wrong one (I changed my answer from right to wrong 16 times...). I also observed that I had much better test stamina. I started getting pretty tired during the P/S block, but before I was tired halfway through C/P.

My next steps:

C/P, B/B: grind Anki (I'm using Captain Hook) and start doing more Ucheese questions, maybe 60 daily? And switch over to the AAMC section banks mid July.

P/S: I find the Khan Academy videos really helpful but it's been taking me a really long time to go through them. I was considering just going right into the Pankow deck but I was unsure since I feel kind of iffy about "not knowing it" since I haven't reviewed the content yet.

CARs: I found JW really frustrating and some of the explanations just didn't make sense to me at all. I'm thinking about just doing some AAMC passages every day instead.

+I've learned all the stuff from C/P and B/B in my courses and have extremely comprehensive notes that go into much more detail than the MCAT does. I was debating if I should be reviewing these as well, or if it's just not worth the time because they're so detailed.

I'm looking for any advice! And if going from 501 -> 520 is even possible. I'd like to hit at least a 510 since my GPA is pretty low. I'd really appreciate any resources and tips on how to review and to not burn out, as well as how you guys schedule/structure your study sessions.

Anthropology minor: Course difficulty

Hi guys! I'm in honours anatomy & cell biology and was planning on taking a bunch of random electives in my U2/U3 to boost my GPA for med school. I'm really interested in anthropology and honestly enjoy doing research/writing in humanities.

I was thinking to do an anthropology minor instead of random electives to help boost my research skills, focus my program, and just to learn something new. However I was worried about the difficulty of the courses in the program: don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love to take some anthro courses, but the main reason why I'm taking random electives is because they're "bird" and will boost my GPA, and I'm worried an anthro minor might not boost my GPA as much.

I'd appreciate any advice from people who have taken an anthro minor and some insight into which courses to take!

Please provide study advice for poor clueless student: testing 8/22

Hi guys! First time taker here looking for some study advice. I have a big problem: I am a MASSIVE procrastinator. I crammed all of my classes in the past 2 years the night before the exam and I was really burned out and not doing my best. So, I want to make a reliable study plan for this summer that I'll actually stick to, since I tend to set really unresonable goals for myself and get discouraged when I don't meet them.

Thing is, I'm currently really overwhelmed by the shear amount of resources available and haven't started studying yet. I got a 496 (121/124/125/126) on the Blueprint half length last week (I was definitely not performing my best: I didn't sleep much and was scrolling on my phone between breaks). However, all of the content (except P/S, I've never taken any similar courses) was familar to me as I've learned about them in courses already, save for some details that aren't too clear as I've forgotten them.

I have access to TPR and Kaplan books, as well as the AAMC FL 1-6 and practice sets. I was thinking for C/P and B/B to just to go straight into practice questions and go through the Captain Hook deck. For P/S I was thinking to watch the KA videos and go through the PDF summary and the Pankow deck. CARs I just grind JW passages everyday. I know that if I start content review by just reading the textbooks I won't absorb much and will procrastinate more. Thing is, I'm not sure if this is a "good" way to study, especially since I got <500 on the Blueprint half length, which I've been told is a sign of severe content gaps. I also plan to take a FL once every week, but I'm worried that this will be too overwhelming.

I would really appreciate any advice regarding this! As well as advice for which question set I should start off with: Jack Westin, Usausage, or AAMC. Thanks so much and good luck everyone on their studying!

Hi guys! As the title says, I am from BC, and my top choice is UBC. However, I decided to do my undergrad at McGill. My GPA is getting absolutely cooked here. I'm sitting at a 3.5 going into my third year. I believe this translates to about an 80% on the UBC GPA conversion table (please correct me if I am wrong).

Luckily, my program has "easier" courses in the last two years, so I'll be able to increase my GPA to a 3.7 in my fourth year. Still, I recognize that this isn't really competitive. My grades so far are mostly due to extreme burnout and depression, however I don't have a family doctor, so I don't have an official diagnosis that I can submit to explain my circumstances.

For ECs, I have two publications and two poster showcases so far, 250 hours of lab research, and 80 hours of hospital volunteering (from back in high school, though I'll be continuing this summer).

Like every other university, I'm surrounded by extremely talented and accomplished students and friends. I've been feeling quite lost and behind my peers. I've really just lost all motivation, and a large part of me believes that I'll never get in, considering my GPA.

I'm posting this in hopes that someone will share their story, or just to give their opinion on how cooked I really am. Thanks for reading and all the best to everyone!
