Will June's writing stay that terrible (S5)
I am watching THMT with a lot of joy so far. Yeah, the long scence just showing Junes expressions are terrible and so far (I am in S5.5) the story was too slow. But the story was good, incredible even. I loved how strong June got and how well planned, tactical she acted with the little chances she got up until the end pf season 4. Her writing felt very good, you could feel her trauma and her anger, nevertheless, other characters like Rita showed another realistic character development in how people could deal with trauma.
Ok, now I am mid season 5 and holy moly, it feels like another GOT S8 is happening. Junes writing turned south. Now she seems to forgive Serena?! Even helping her to some extent? And that after she killed her husband with her bear hands. What a turn. A horrible one. Serena is amont the most horrible characters in the whole show. What she did, in particular to June is unforgivable. At least on par with Fred and just out of nothing everything is fine again.
Then June really thinks about going back to Gilead, just to sometimes see her daugther Hanna. But Hanna will still be part of the system, she will still be regularly raped, June will just be able to watch it closely. The price for that, would likely be the end of America, the US and ahh, her life in freedom and her second daugther.
So my question is: Will this horrible, unrealistic writing continue? Is this yet another GOT S8 thing? Or is this bs just a few bad episodes?
