The three methods to unlock a Hyde.

There are three methods to unlock a Hyde: a traumatic event, a chemical drug, and hypnosis. Laurel uses two of the three to master Tyler (a traumatic event via torture and drugging him), while Fran uses only one of the three, hypnosis, to master Tyler.

It is hard to tell which method is the strongest to unlock a Hyde and which one is the weakest. At first, I was going to rule out hypnosis as the weakest one to master a Hyde, becuase Tyler does eventually turn on his mother, but I don't think so anymore becuase you gotta remember, Fran is Tyler's second master, and that got me thinking as well: the more masters you had as a Hyde, the weaker the master bond becomes?

Which method actually got Tyler to Hyde out? We don't know how long Tyler was tortured and drugged. It could've been weeks or a whole month. Was it the torture that got him to break, or the drugs?

As we find out about Fran, the way she was unlocked was by being hit in the face by her father; that is her traumatic event, and it is heavily implied that she immediately Hyde out right after, so a traumatic event can vary from each person, as expected.

At first, did Laurel only use one of the three methods to unlock Tyler? And when she realized it wasn't working, she combined both torture and drugging him to get him Hyde Out faster?

After Wednesday will the concept of Outcasts show up again?

Do you think the concepts of Outcasts will ever show up again in another Addams Family adaptation after Wednesday? I honestly don’t think so.

Honestly, it was such a risk to put the Addams Family in a monster world because it’s the Addams who are supposed to be the odd ones out in society. The series does manage to keep the Addams Family standing out, so I applaud them for that.

The whole concept of Normies and Outcasts should’ve gone to The Munsters, in my opinion. I feel like The Munsters are underrated in horror, and this should’ve been their chance to become mainstream. They can still make the series about a teen girl detective; it could be about Marilyn Munster.

What do you think? They made the right choice, and expanding the Addams Family or The Munsters should’ve gotten their shot?

Tyler + "sacrifice himself so other Hydes can go to Nevermore." Redemption Arc.

When I see comments like this, I do understand why people think this is going to happen; it is a very common redemption arc in which a character known for doing bad things does one last good deed. Think of Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2, Darth Vader from Star Wars, Jet from The Last Airbender, and Agatha From Agtha All Along.

However, I can already tell it's not genuine, and they don't care about Tyler (especially don't care about Hydes); they use it as an excuse to want Tyler out of the show.

By the way, we already saw something like this; it was with Fran. Fran was causing trouble for the Addams Family and pain for Tyler. During the fight on the cliff, I think Fran realized that she was hurting Tyler, and the only way he could live was for her to get out of the picture, leading to her fall.

What If's in "If You Don't Me By Now".

Thing's attack in "If You Don't Woe Me By Now" was the turning point. It marked the end of the beginning of Wednesday and Tyler's relationship.

Besides feeling guilty for what happened to Eugene, her first real friend, Wednesday had to experience what almost feeling Thing feels like. (I feel like it is such an underrated scene; seeing Wednesday trying not to cry is just heartbreaking.)

If Thing had never gotten hurt, Wednesday would've handled Tyler being the Hyde much better; she would've planned everything better to get information out of Tyler. By this point, she knows Hydes are slaves to their master and have to obey their commands; she let her emotions run wild where she shouldn't, and knows Tyler is a victim and should focus on who his master is.

And there is Tyler. Tyler is smart; after Wednesday ran away from him, her wanting to meet in the woods later should have made him know that everything was up; he must've known. I understood why Tyler still wanted to act oblivious. He was clinging to hope that Wednesday still doesn't know, which makes sense.

Knowing what type of person Lauerl is, she definitely planted the idea that Wednesday would never be interested in him after knowing he is the Hyde, and she never cared, liked, or even loved him. That only Lauerl does. After Wednesday did start to torture him, in his eyes, his fear became true, which explains his cold attitude towards her in the end.

Now, here is another what if: instead of still acting oblivious, should Tyler confessed to Wednesday the moment in the woods? Would’ve she still have tortured him or hear him out?

Extended Addams and Frump Families + What relatives we aren't going to see.

As we'll know, we're going to see more of the extended members of the Addams Family, such as Cousin Itt in season three; however, we won't be seeing his wife, Marget, and baby What becuase of copyright issues, as they belong to the Addams Family 90s movies.

(The only way I think this is possible is if they made a deal that allowed them to use those characters.)

Which means we won't see other extended members from the 90s movies or from any Addams Family media becuase of copyright issues, but as it has been pointed out, the name Balthazar is actually the name of Gomez's cousin. We know he'll appear in the series, but I don't think he will be an Addams relative.

(The nickname Pugsley gives Isaac, Slurp, actually comes from Slurp Frump, who is a relative of Hester.)

If I had to choose relatives from different Addams Family media to appear in the series, it would be Morticia and Ophelia's cousins, Castarophia (1998) and Melancholia Frump (1964/1998).

Castarophia Frump.

Melancholia Frump along with Morticia.

They're daughters of Tic Frump (Hester's brother) and his wife, Phobia Frump. It would be nice to see more of the Frump side of the family. (It is going to be confirmed that the Frump family are French becuase of Ophelia's journal; she mentioned her spirit guide and brought up that it could be Joan of Arc.)

We're likely going to be introduced to new Brand Addams relatives or even Frump relatives like Goody Addams and Uncle Vasco (the shrunken head in "The Devil You Woe".

Wednesday's seasons posters + Crystal Ball.

I noticed that most of Wednesday's season posters, it give us small clues about what to expect.

In season one, Wednesday's poster shows her wearing her Nevermore uniform and carrying an umbrella as it rains.

https://preview.redd.it/ss3ah0mf15ih1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=424ee33d642cb5b5a8536569094455ea415f6b6b

In season one, it rained a lot. It was raining when Wednesday first arrived at Nevermore, when she almost got killed by the gargoyle from Rowan in "Wednesday's Child Is Full of Woe."

It started raining when Wednesday learned more about Goody and Crackstone, her second encounter with the Hyde, and when we learned more about psychic abilities and how we can't always rely on them in "Friend or Woe." The last time it rained, it was during Mayor Walker's funeral in "You Don't Woe Me By Now."

For season two, Wednesday's poster shows her being tied up with black tears.

https://preview.redd.it/tijna0zay4ih1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=774c4ad4fff47780a8a427cdf5c326c3cd2e9eb2

In "Here We Woe Again," Wednesday is tied up becuase she got captured by the Kansas City Scapler, and black tears are introduced.

For season three, Wednesday is behind Thing while he is holding a crystal ball. (This might not be the official poster, but it is still fun to look at.)

https://preview.redd.it/jblrcqejy4ih1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6737d0a48d295812e841515b63da045cf406c292

It is safe to assume the crystal ball will show up again in the series. My theory is that the crystal ball is Ophelia's.

In season two, we learn that Ophelia also had black tears and lost her psychic abilities. In season three, I bet Opheila is going to use all types of spells and other devices to get temporary visions, and the crystal ball will be one of those items. (I also noticed it looks cracked, so perhaps it is broken?)

In "Woe Thyself", we learn this is a possibility because Rosaline Rotwood put dark energy on her gravestone, giving a special inscription that if a Raven recites it, they will get temporary sight.

No trace of the White Rose

The white rose from Xavier's painting, and Wednesday’s vision never appeared afterwards.

The only time flowers showed up it was for Wednesday, Tyler’s dead roses, and Judi’s lilies when visiting her at the hospital. Enid never received a white rose; nobody gave it to her, Judi, or any of the crows gave her one, as a sign that her death is coming.

Even when Weems shows Wednesday the new headstone of an Addams dying, crows appear but no white rose.

I saw the white rose not appearing as a huge clue that the vision is not real.

There is the possibility that the white rose is supposed to be symbolic rather than taken literally, but up till this point, Wednesday’s visions never took a symbolic step; they only show past and future events, it never took a symbolic route.

Wednesday should definitely have looked into the white rose; yes, it was a small detail, but every clue counts.

"It's black, and it beats for you."

"It's black, and it beats for you." Rio says to Agatha in "Seekest Thou the Road" in Agatha All Along.

The line obviously reminds me of Tyler's famous “We're two black-hearted souls ready to pillage the world together." Not only because of the mention of black hearts, but because of the situation both couples find themselves in.

Both Rio and Tyler were rejected by their lovers, Agatha and Wednesday, after some time apart and seeing them again. Agatha rejects Rio and claims she doesn't have a heart, while Wednesday rejects Tyler and their relationship.

Both Agatha and Wednesday claim to “hate” them, when it’s not true; it’s complicated.

Agatha is heartbroken after Rio had to eventually claim their son Nicholas’s life, creating a rift between her and Rio and their status as a couple. Agatha has been running away from Rio, rejecting her for what she had to do, and claims that she doesn’t want anything to do with Rio when it’s obviously not true. She still loves Rio.

There is Wednesday; Tyler’s betrayal made Wednesday feel like a fool. When the opportunity came to put Tyler down for good, she couldn’t. She doesn’t understand why she saved his life instead of ending it, but it is obvious why. She still cares about Tyler.

Why is there no trace of Nathaniel Faulkner at Nevermore?

This goes back to my post about Nathaniel Faulkner, throwing out the possibility he was a Normie or an Outcast https://www.reddit.com/r/weyler/s/qb488Df7u4

u/ElvenQueen726 🖤 Brought up something very interesting: "You know what I always find strange? There are no busts or portraits of Faulkner, despite him being the Founder. You'd think Edgar Allan Poe owned the school instead, with all the tributes they have for him."

Besides his diary (which was also hidden in the Night Shade Library), there is no evidence of Faulkner being at Nevermore. Literally nothing; he does not have a statue, he has no painting, and nothing is named after him.

Edgar Allan Poe was a student, yet he is mentioned everywhere; he is in the school's Alma Mater, but not the founder of the school?!

Nevermore has a history of covering things up (Isaac and Rowan). Why is Nevermore trying so hard to cover up Faulkner? There are only three possibilities I can think of.

1) Faulkner was never an Outcast, and the school was embarrassed that its founder was a Normie and removed any trace of him.

2) Faulkner never founded Nevermore, and he stole it from someone else.

3) Faulkner's history with the Hydes is much darker; the school was ashamed of it and tried to cover it by removing any trace of him.

An important and respected character in a magical place turns out to be a fake is a common trope; think of the Wizard from "The Wizard of Oz" or Emperor Belos from "The Owl House."

A social hierarchy in the Outcast community?

Is it a stretch to say there is a social hierarchy in the Outcast community?

I find it interesting that the psychics we've been introduced to come from money. The Addams Family is a wealthy Outcast family, along with Hester. There is Xavier; his father is an Outcast celebrity, and his grandmother and Hester knew each other.

It is even theorized that the Night Family also comes from money, as evidenced by Isaac's signet ring, which is worn as a status symbol. (A theory that Isaac and Fran's father is a Da Vinci, so perhaps Da Vinci's are high in the social ladder.)

It is kinda established that the Hydes are lesser Outcasts, viewed as dangerous and unpredictable.

Another species of Outcasts that can fall into this category are Sirens; even Dort commented on it when wanting to gain Bianca's trust in "Here We Woe Again", not sharing those views about Sirens. It refers to her Siren Song, the ability to use her voice to manipulate people's feelings, thoughts, and actions. It is the reason why she and Xavier's broke up; he can never trust her.

Another thing, both Hydes and Sirens have been used as tools. Hydes are slaves to their masters, while Dort and Giden used the "Morning Song" cult to manipulate the Sirens to recruit people and scam them with their money.

For the other outcasts, Werewolves, Gorgons, Vampires, etc. It is hard to determine where in the social hierarchy they fell.

Was Nathaniel Faulker an Outcast or Normie?

In season three, we're going to learn more about Nathaniel Faulkner and his research with the Hydes. I want to throw out a possibility: is it possible that Faulkner was not an Outcast at all but a Normie?

Reading through the wiki, it never stated what Outcast Faulkner was, only that he traveled the world and was obsessed with learning all about the different Outcasts and their cultures, and he founded Nevermore Academy in 1791.

Personally, I don't want this theory to be real and hope Faulkner was an Outcast. I don't want a "Normies=Bad and Outcasts=Good." I want both sides to be equally good and bad. That's why I enjoy Barry and Issac as antagonists; they show how Outcasts can use other Outcasts for personal gain.

Weems knew all along + Protecting Nevermore.

Going back to season one, it is crazy how much Principal Weems knew about everything with the Hydes.

In "If You Don't Woe By Now", she admits she knew about the Hyde and Faulkner's studies, but never told Donovan because she thought it would be the end of Nevermore.

Now knowing that she knew Fran, was a friend of hers and was even invited to her wedding. Weems was willing to let her friend's son be a slave to protect a school.

Was there a small opportunity that the Hyde couldn't be Tyler and was another Hyde? Yes, I think Donvoan also thought of it but came to the conclusion that it had to be Tyler. I also think Weems had to come to that conclusion as well.

I want to give her a grace of salt; when the murders did start happening, maybe Weems did try to tell Donovan that it was a chance that Tyler's Hyde was unlocked and he was behind the murders, but Donovan didn't want to believe it at the time.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but did Weems say in "Woe Me The Money" that Fran told her to stay away from her family? And Weems obviously respected her wishes. It's still insane to me that all this time Weems could've stopped all of this but probably didn't, and for what? To protect Nevermore?

I really hope they go on a deep dive with Weems and her obsession with protecting Nevermore. Does it just have to do with her superiority complex or something deeper?

Doves being a rare type of psychics + Morticia wanting to be a Raven?

I was inspired to do this post becuase of a conversation with u/ElvenQueen726 and u/MoonLove1327.

I think that in season three, it will be confirmed that Doves are a rare type of psychics becuase of their optimistic view of the world.

I also have a feeling that Morticia secretly wanted to be a Raven when she was younger. Being a Dove in her family, she most likely felt like an outsider between Hester and Ophelia.

Hester probably spent her energy on Ophelia once her psychic abilities began to appear, trying to shape her into a "Great Raven," something Hester tried to be herself. (Throughout season two, Morticia thinks Wednesday and Hester are working together behind her back; I can see Hester doing the same thing with Ophelia to Morticia.)

I think that's why Morticia sought out to earn Hester's approval when she was younger, to make up for the fact that she wasn't a Raven.

When Wednesday turned out to be Raven, it may have reopened old feelings. Morticia does her best to help Wednesday when navigating her visions. She wants to guide Wednesday without repeating the same mistakes Hester did with Ophelia.

Her daughter is a Raven; her sister is Raven, and her mother is Raven. It must have been lonely for Morticia.

If that's the case, it can parallel Gomez's issues after losing his outcast abilities. Both of them are struggling with the same feeling of being outsiders within their group. Gomez is an outcast but has no outcast abilities, while Morticia is a Dove in a family of Ravens.

(Just for sillies, Carolyn Jones's Morticia definitely would be a Dove while Anjelica Huston's Morticia would be a Raven.)

Tyler + “just because something bad happened to you doesn’t give you a excuse to hurt other people.”

You’ll almost find a comment like this under a Tyler post on the main sub whenever people are discussing about him in general “just because something bad happened to you doesn’t give you a excuse to hurt other people.”

It gets to a point where I’ll give roll my eyes because, everyone knows this! Why do you have to remind us every time? I thought this was a pretty universal lesson people learn when they’re young.

This doesn’t just apply to Tyler, but every fictional character who has a complex or traumatic story and trying to explain their behavior.

I also feel like you don’t see the comment nearly as often under discussion of a complex female characters, like Jinx, Shauna Shipman or Jennifer Check. People tend to be more understanding why they’re doing what they’re doing and sympathizing with them, rather than reminding everyone else that their actions are still wrong.

I think that comment should be used for fictional characters who actually do try to justify or excuse their actions because of their past.

Wednesday's cello scenes and meanings behind them. + Few ideas for season three cello scenes.

I really love Wednesday's cello scenes, and the songs they chose are very important.

"Paint it Black" - Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe.
A song about grief and depression; the narrator is blocking out the vibrant and colorful world to match his feeling of darkness.

It is Wednesday's first day at Nevermore. She plays it on the balcony at Nevermore to vent her frustration after being sent to the school.

This choice is fitting becuase that's what Wednesday literally does; she rejects the bright, vibrant, and colorful world around her in favor of darkness.

"The Four Seasons, Winter" - Friend or Woe.
Vivaldi's "Winter" is about the harshness, desolation, and the beauty of the wintertime.

Weems signed up Wednesday to play with the marching band at the Outreach Day ceremony. After learning the history of Crackstone, Wednesday plays "Winter" after Thing sets the Crackstone statue ablaze.

This one is especially symbolic because it is Wednesday standing up against Crackstone and the destruction of his image. Winter symbolizes old age, the end of a cycle, and death. Weems even says that Wednesday is on thin ice.

"Dance of the Knights" - Here We Woe Again.

Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet is about the feud between the two families, the Capulets and the Montagues, and the masquerade ball where Romeo and Juliet first meet.

Wednesday plays it in the music room, similar to in "Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe"; Wednesday is venting out her frustration.

This is the most foreshadowing piece, as the second half of season two is about families vs families. The Night Family vs. The Addams Family. (Night sounding like Knight is interesting worldplay) Wednesday and Tyler represent Romeo and Juliet caught in the middle of it.

"Don't Fear The Reaper"- Woe Thyself.

About eternal love and accepting the inevitability of death.

Wednesday (in Enid's Body) is playing it in the music room. This is also venting out her frustration we've seen prior.

This song has a connection to "Dance of the Knights", as in the lyrics, Romeo and Juliet are mentioned:
"Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity (Romeo and Juliet)."

Now, what songs do I think they'll use for season three? I have no idea, but I do have some ideas, and please tell me what song or classical piece.

"Face to Face" by Siouxie and the Banshees.
(Fun Fact: Tim Burton asked them for the song for Batman Returns, lol)
The push and pull of forbidden attraction.

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg.
About a peasant who sneaks into a troll kingdom. The troll king wants the peasant to marry his daughter, but the present refused; the music represents his desperate escape from the trolls.

The film "Clue" inspiration for season three.

Rewatching the cast announcement video, I couldn't help but think of the film "Clue." It follows six guests invited to a mansion, and their host is murdered. A classic whodunit mystery. It makes me think that the showdown will happen at a dinner party, either at the Addams estate or the Frump estate, and everyone is a suspect becuase one of them killed Wednesday.

I think at the beginning of season three, Wednesday is already dead and will be in the Underworld, trying to escape, and the Wednesday we see is not our Wednesday becuase someone possessed her. She'll narrate the events that lead up to her death.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding "Wednesday Must Die." Is Ophelia going to make her vision into reality? Is Wednesday's death for the greater good? Or is someone responsible for Wednesday's death?

Using "Viper De La Murete" as clues for season three.

Interesting idea as we wait for season three: I think it would be very cool if we had "Viper De La Muerte" videos or shorts to give the audience clues about what's to come next, such as new locations, hints about new characters, and old ones.

They've done something similar before; I believe someone deciphered one of Wednesday's pages from her novel, which foreshadowed the asylum scene with Wednesday and the Hyde.

We'll know that Viper Dxe La is Wednesday's self-insert, and the characters are based on people she knows. Wednesday most definitely used the Crackstone case as inspiration for a mystery for Viper.

They could even film the shorts as a noir-style thriller in black and white, or lean fully into a telenovela aesthetic.

The Role of Cyrus + Hydes

I'm so curious about Cyrus's role in season three.

Cyrus belongs to the "B" category, along with Attius, Daisy, and Tabitha. It is theorized that the "B" is the first initial of the Hyde camp or the first initial of a Hyde family.

If either theory is true, that means Cyrus will be one of the oldest Hydes. Fran stated that Hydes don't live long, especially males without masters. Will Cyrus back up her statement? Are we going to meet Cyrus where he is in a similar state to Fran, coughing up blood? Or is he actively trying to find a cure?

Also, having an older Male Hyde around Tyler is very interesting.

It is stated that male Hydes suffer worse than their female counterparts. The only three male Hydes we know are Tyler, Alfie Penn, and Capri's father. We already know Tyler's story: groomed, drugged, kidnapped, tortured, and then mind-controlled to be a killer slave. This makes me wonder how common and normalized Tyler's story is in the Hyde community for males and females.

With Alfie, we don't know much about him. Capri stated that his master was in love with him before she ordered him to kill Capri.

(I always felt Alfie is supposed to mirror Tyler in a way. It is never stated when Capri and Alfie met; did they meet as teens or adults? If Alfie was a teen and his Hyde was unlocked by an older woman and they had an inappropriate relationship, then the parallel between Alfie and Tyler will be strong.)

We have no clue about Capri's father. Her father is most likely dead due to her wording "was". Did he have a dark past? Did he have a master, or was he coughing up blood as well before passing away?

Another thing: how many Hydes are similar to Fran? Who can't take being Hydes anymore and end up ultimately taking their own lives?

I theorize that Cyrus's backstory will be similar to Tyler's, perhaps even darker, and that his role will be to show that rehabilitation is possible.

Wednesday and Tyler: Their Views on Their Parents relationship.

Children learn what love looks like by watching their parents.

Wednesday knows her parents are in a very healthy, trusting, and caring relationship. However, as time passes, as Wednesday becomes emotionally detached, seeing emotions as weakness, she rejects love, making comments on her parents' version of love: sappy, handsy, lovey-doveyness.

"You two are making me nauseous." in Wednesday's Child Is Full of Woe.
"I've seen jackals with more self-control than you two." in You Reap What You Woe.

Wednesday finds Gomez and Morticia's open displays of affection excessive. Therefore, she rejects expressing love the same way her parents do.

Growing up, Tyler thinks his parents had a healthy, trusting, and caring relationship, like how every little kid does. After Fran's "death", Donovan became more emotionally detached, not even mentioning her. Tyler starts to question his parents' love.

"Did you ever even love her?"
"More than you could ever know."
In Quid Pro Woe.

Despite everything Fran did to him, lying about being an outcast, Donovan genuinely loved Fran. With Fran, we don't know how she felt about Donovan. Did she really love him, or was she just using him to have a better life?

(I remember being really bummed out about the lack of Fran and Donovan's relationship in season two, but I think that was intentional on the writers' part. The writers left Fran's feelings ambiguous to mirror the ambiguity surrounding Tyler's feelings for Wednesday.)

That uncertainty could explain why Tyler needs to know where he stands in the relationship. This is why he went off on Wednesday: "Call me crazy, Wednesday, but you giving me these signals." and "Am I in the 'more-than-friend zone' or just a pawn in some game you're playing?" in Woe What a Night.

Wednesday's mindscape

Entering someone's mind is one of my favorite storytelling tropes, especially for a character like Wednesday, who is very emotionally guarded. Although brief, that's why her therapy sessions with Dr. Kinibott were important: to see Wednesday's views on the world.

"I see the world as a place that must be endured, and my personal philosophy is kill or to be killed."

The closest thing we have to someone going through Wednesday's mind is her novel character Viper De La Muerte, who is Wednesday's self-insert: "smart, perceptive, chronologically misunderstood." Everything you need to know about Wednesday is most likely in her novels. Her thoughts and her relationships. (I can see why Dr. Kinibott went through it, but she should never have done it because she already broke Wednesday's trust by invading her privacy.)

For someone to Wednesday's mind. That will be literal hell to her. After Nero's death, Wednesday learns that emotions are weakness; she has built defensive walls to protect herself. Another reason is because of the lack of control. Wednesday thrives on control. As mentioned before, if someone enters her mind, they'll see her hidden truths and her vulnerability on certain things she tries to avoid.

For Wednesday's mindscape, I want to visually represent her personality, obviously. It can be a dark library, an evidence board, and a dark house or castle, each room opening to her memories, thoughts, and desires, etc.
