Sharing a piece that I finished recently and sent off to Colorado. It was commissioned by someone I used to work with who was born and raised in California but moved away. They moved away and wanted something that reminded them of home.

Something I made for a friend.

I remember the first time I saw #JigglyCaliente on Drag Race Season 4. I immediately was a fan and would tell everyone about her. I probably made everyone at work tired of me sharing GIFs of her in Hipchat.

When I started doing stained glass I knew I wanted to do Queer/Drag art. I was so sad to hear of her passing last year and I thought what better way to honor her than to do something inspired by her.

The design and pattern changed a bit as I was working on it but she and this photo of her remained my inspiration. May she rest in peace. #stainedglass #dragrace #queerart #bayarea

Ok, this one was so fun. I took a fusing for stained glass class at @stainedglassgarden and just had a blast both with experimentation and all the wonderful folks in the class.

There are three fused areas.

1. The red glass uses the sgraffito technique where you paint on a solid color, wait for it to dry, scratch out your design and the fuse the remaining paint onto the glass.
2. On the cactus I placed broken stringers on the blue glass for whimsical thorns.
3. And finally on the yellow sky I used orange and red frit to mimic the sunset.

Glad to finally be able to share some work from February. I made both of these for my brother and dad.

It's a representation of the ranch cattle brand used on the ranch my great grandfather homesteaded in the Mimbres Valley of New Mexico in 1918.

I had this idea floating in my head for a while and decided to give it a go. I love the way it came out and plan on doing some different colors and styles.

Really happy with the result! What do y’all think?

Got this all leaded and framed. All of these angles were…a learning experience.

Now onto soldering and cementing.
