Drukhari Scourge - 'Eavy Metal Style

Hello everyone!

I am almost 5 months into my painting journey and I think I took a big step forward with these scourage, as I noticed my brush control actually allowed me to paint eyes.

Anyways, I am going for a heavy contrast with edge highlighting on these models because it's easier than volumetric highlighting in my opinion.

I am actually very happy with how they look so please be kind 🤪

I am wondering, how could I further improve the paint job on these models? Is this about as far as edge highlights can go? I put effort into being as neat as I could with my blocking and highlights.

I posted a Lelith on this page a few weeks ago and you guys really helped me improve.

Thanks in advance!

Splitting Units into Different Transports

Units:

10 wyches with Lelith

5 incubi with archon

Venom

Raider

Question:

If I use the venom to split the wych squad and carry 5 wyches plus Lelith, can i put the other 5 wyches into the raider with the incubi and archon?

Rules interpretation:

Based on the venom special rule, and the "declare battle formations" section of the event companion, I think this is possible.

However, I am a new player and figured I would confirm with my fellow drukhari players :)

Upgraded Lelith

Just wanted to update after asking for C+C on this sub and others.

I'm much happier with the contrast and the face on this model now. So thank you to all those who provided feedback!

I learned a lot through this process.

Some parts on the skin would definitely benefit from a little glazing to blend and the paints probably were a bit too thick for layering, but I'm happy overall.

Cheers everyone and thanks again!

Kitbashed Scourge "Dark Lances"

Am I hobbying yet, oh great Archon Skari!?

Made some customized scourge weapons because I hate the pose with the dark lance.

Hopefully this would work in a tournament?

Will update once painted :P.

How to Push Lelith Paint Job

Hi All!

I'm pretty new to painting and was hoping for some constructive feedback on this Lelith Hesperix.

Overall, I'm happy with it, but know that it could be better.

I'm looking for specific advice on how to push this paint job to the next level.

Thanks all!

How to improve this Lelith paint job

Hi All,

This is the second character I have painted and I'm pretty happy with the result, but I feel that it could be improved.

I went for a heavy metal style on the armor, worked to layer the skin, and also to transition the hair from a dark red up to a bright orange as it gets longer.

How can I push this paint job up? What are your thoughts?

I think that the skin lacks a bit of contrast and that I should have started with a darker basecoat.

Thanks in advance!

Help With Lilith Hair!

Hey everyone! Was hoping for some help on painting hair in general, as well as this particular scheme.

For context, the top of the hair is base coated in stegadon scale green and heavy glazed up with khorn red. I then work to highlight and transition the hair gradually up to wild ryder red.

I think I may have started too dark with the hair tho. Maybe I should just bascoat in khorne red to reduce the overall gradient and make the highlights look more natural?

Any suggestions and technique help would be greatly appreciated!

First Talos!

Hey y'all! This is my first Talos. I think I need to get better at layering and blending skin, but I think I'm happy overall.
