A beautiful musky with an incredible sunset! This fish came out of a grass bed to smoke a bucktail at the boat. I had no clue this fish was following close ready to eat as I could barely see through the water at this point. Put up a great fight and jumped itself right into the net. Wish I could post the video too. Always always figure eight, especially in low light conditions!
I was finally able to break my losing streak with this 37” musky. I’ve lost 5 fish in the past couple weeks, a couple nice ones too..
Burning bucktails early season when the fish are just moving shallow has been very effective for me so far. The week prior to this I had 2 follows in the same cove so I knew there would be a hungry ski here. Couldn’t have asked for a better day
Been a couple years since I’ve caught a musky. Last year I hooked 3 of them and they all shook the hook. First day out on the musky waters and this 47”er took a custom made chatterbait.
Chasing bowfin for a few weeks now and I got the chance to hook into this beauty. Dragged me around in the yak for a while till another boat saw me struggling and helped net her. Safely released to fight another day.
To catch some big ones this time of year you can’t be afraid to get down deep into some submerged weeds. Ripping a Texas rigged craw through weeds has continued to be effective for me over the years. I’m using a very light 1/8th oz tungsten bullet weight and I’m slowly hopping it off the bottom.
Has anyone else ever caught a big channel cat on a Glidebait? Went out yesterday evening in the smoke when this big fella smacked the soft glide.
