Strategic Diversity as an Immediate Measurement is Flawed

What the worker changes really do is widen the decision windows around existing unit balance. If you are used to a figured-out LotV and play robotically, then sure, you can still get to a macro game that doesn’t look much different. But that is not the same thing as the change having no effect. It will take real creativity, maybe even true genius, to leverage the difference in timings and turn those small openings into a new meta. So-called build diversity comes from the number of new timings, pressures, and responses that become discoverable over time. You won’t find “diversity” up front just by looking at the patch notes or playing the same solved builds. It takes time.
