For the first photo… she loves to bring me tiny dead animals as a present… or maybe she’s hoping i help them? (She’s seen me care for and help many animals, so maybe?) She found a squirrel about to explode from bloat in the woods once this one was a squished frog. 🥴

Do horses really play pranks?

Hi horse peeps!

A few months ago, I had to leave for a family emergency and my boyfriend had to take over the daily chores for our farmstead for a while. I usually did an extra night check (and I mean after midnight because we have many big predators in the area — a cougar was heard calling a mate a couple days ago)
So my horse is expecting to see me at night.
To be honest, I just enjoy hanging out with him, sometimes just laying on his back in the field while he grazes, or sitting down with him with his head on my lap under the stars/auroras/moonlight and listening to the quietness of the night.

While I was gone, the bf wasn’t doing that midnight check (he works early). So I just connected to the cameras and did a check on my phone.

One night, the bf decided to do a later night check because he had just come back from a get-together on his Friday night, so why not.
As he walked by the fence line to check on the charger, he heard quick and heavy footsteps through the sticky snow, rushing towards him. He barely had time to turn around, our horse had poked him on the shoulder with his nose and the bf jumped out of his body for a second, turned around, and this was the face my horse was making 🤣

I do play with my horse and my relationship with him is very colourful. I’ve never seen horses prank people before.
