Graduated but feel completely behind. Need advice on moving to Germany !?!

HEYY GUYS, I feel a bit lost career-wise and I wanted honest advice from people who’ve been through something similar.

I just graduated in software engineering, but if I’m being honest, my uni didn’t prepare me well practically. I know the basics theoretically, but I still feel so behind compared to other "standard" grads in tech. I barely know how to use GitHub properly, and I haven’t built any real projects yet.

My long-term goal is to move to Germany and eventually do a master’s there, probably in an English-taught program. But I don’t think I’m ready yet, academically or professionally. So lately I’ve been thinking: "What if I spend a year first just rebuilding myself properly?"

My plan would be to move there, learn German, improve my coding portfolio, get used to the place, and apply for a master's later. I don’t know if this is actually realistic though, especially visa-wise and financially.

Has anyone here done something similar? Or gone to Germany first through a language/preparation route before starting their degree? And honestly, do you think this is a smart idea, or would it make more sense to stay home first and rebuild my skills there before trying to move?

I’d really appreciate honest advice because I feel stuck between “I need to move forward” and “I’m not ready yet".
