[Hiring] SHORT-FORM VIDEO EDITOR

SHORT-FORM VIDEO EDITOR — TIKTOK SPORTS — FIFA WORLD CUP 2026
Refs Need Love Too × WILDERHARE & CO.

We're hiring a part-time short-form video editor (independent contractor) to support a creator partnering with TikTok and FIFA as one of the official "Creator Correspondents" for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Unpaid 45-minute test edit first; paid trial assignments follow within 7 days; ongoing paid work May 20 – July 9 if it clicks.

ABOUT THE CREATOR
Refs Need Love Too (@refsneedlovetoo) — 213K TikTok followers, 15.3M total likes, top-decile engagement. USSF referee and mentor humanizing officiating through humor, education, and advocacy. Featured in TikTok's first-ever FIFA Preferred Platform creator program for the World Cup.

THE WORK
- Short-form TikToks, vertical 9:16
- Length 15–90 seconds depending on content type
- Footage captured on recent-model iPhone (per FIFA contract spec)
- Roughly 40–55 videos total, May 20 – July 9
- Volume is uneven by design:
- Pre-tournament (now – June 10): 2–3 videos/week, relaxed pace
- Match windows (6 World Cup matches between June 16 – July 9): 5 videos within 24 hours of each final whistle. Three matches fall inside a single week each — that's the crunch
- Between matches: 3–5 videos/week
- Footage provided: iPhone-shot clips, FIFA archival, behind-the-scenes from press conferences and training
- Style: punchy hooks, clean captions, trend-aware pacing, educational tone with humor

TURNAROUND
- Standard videos: 24–48 hours
- Match-window videos: 6–10 hours from raw footage, hard 24-hour ceiling from final whistle (contractual)
- If a 6–10 hour turnaround on a weeknight feels unrealistic for your life, this isn't the right project — say so now and we part friends 🧡

STRUCTURE
We're hiring one primary editor + one backup. Both roles are real and paid. Tell us which fits your bandwidth.

RATE
- $35/video base
- +$25 surge bonus for match-window videos delivered inside 8 hours
- Hourly alternative available ($35–50/hr) for candidates who prefer it

WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Demonstrable TikTok-native editing portfolio (links required)
- CapCut Pro, Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve
- Comfort working from iPhone-captured source footage
- US-based, Eastern or Central time zone strongly preferred
- Reliable communication; evenings flexibility during match windows
- Bonus: live-sports / news-pace editing background, caption animation skills, sports content experience

TO APPLY
Respond by Friday 5/22 @ 5 PM ET. Include:

  1. 2–3 sentences on why this project interests you
  2. 2–3 links to short-form work you've edited (your best, not your latest)
  3. Primary or backup role preference, and why
  4. Your time zone + weekly capacity
  5. One question you have about the project

We'll respond within 48 hours. Top candidates get a 45-minute unpaid test edit using sample footage. Paid trial assignments follow.

Thanks!
