Udo Kier

What's happening with his role in OD?

The film Swan Song was really good and he was outstanding in it. I selfishly want another performance from him posthumously.

I couldn't care less about the game or the other actors in it.

No WEREWOLF in WERWULF

Would you be upset if there was no hybrid man-wolf WEREWOLF in WERWULF, and all we got was Aaron Taylor Johnson roaming around in the buck miming a wolf?

I personally think that's what we're getting.

I think the werewolf will be a metaphorical transformation, and the reason why this film is going to be so taboo is because it will be a man ripping throats out and eating people.

In some ways, it would be creepier doing it this way, where Aaron's character sneaks into cottages and acts like a rabid animal, with his human faculties gone, and people trying to reason with him like he's a man, but in reality he's totally checked out.

I think it would work better here than it did in Wolf Man, because of the setting and the way eggers can play with perspective where we might see a werewolf, or a real life wolf, but it's in the minds eye of our characters.

I don't think it worked for WOLF MAN because the expectations of Wolf Man hinged on there being something more theatrical than what we got.

Had the 2025 Wolf Man had a werewolf a la Bad Moon or The Howling I think it would have elevated the movie.

With Werwulf, I can see Eggers using the werewolf as a narrative engine of a man going back to the wild and barbarism, while living on the precipice of real civilization just on the other side of the forest, so to speak.

One film that does this incredibly well without actually being a werewolf movie is SPLIT.

He even called himself The Beast.
