Progress on wild space

A while ago I posted i was leaving some space to grow wild along the edges of my yard. This is what it looks like so far. You can't really see in the picture but there's a bunch of butterflies now!

Since doing this i hear birds more, we have rabbits, lightening bugs, butterflies, bats, and I'm noticing frogs and bees now!

I started this journey not too long ago and it's really helped with my own mental health. I never thought I was having any big issues but diving back into being amongst nature and following pagan and animistic paths have unveiled to me that there was something missing and it's being filled.

Just wanted to share!

WIP Odin Idol

Progress on my Odin Idol so far. Still have detail work to do.

I'm newly introduced to Runes and I wanted to wood burn some runes on the back. I'm thinking of Younger Futhark but I'm not sure what to carve.

Odin brought me into Heathenry so I want to make sure it's something good.

Any advice? And any thoughts on my carving so far?

Literature on Water/Water Spirits?

Hi! I'm new to paganism and spiritualism and I'm trying to learn as I go.

I don't fully know what to categorize myself as yet, but I've been spending more time going out to nature and being around the spirits of the woods. I mostly go to a stream by my house and I've discovered another nature area near my house that has natural springs.

I enjoy the sound of running water and I'm able to be at peace around these things. I have an altar set up and thought I was going to be practicing Heathenry but I haven't pulled the trigger and made altars to any god yet.

Spirits/Wights I'm having no issues with revealing and meditating around. I've done offerings to them. But I'm just not feeling that pull to any of the gods that I'm aware off. I feel like there's something out there but haven't put my finger on a name or source yet.

I'm curious if there's anything that specifies practices with water, water Spirits, or some god of water?

Please let me know if you have a direction you can point me in.

I saw a video of a lawn care guy talking about creating "No Mow" zones. Yards in America are ecological dead zones. We cut down life before it has a chance to blossom. So he proposed to leave areas you don't cut and allow space for pollinators and other small animals.

I saw this video right around I started looking into animism and I thought it over and decided to try it out.

I still mow, we use the space for our kids and their friends. I have a fire pit. My kids have a swing. They play tag, they watch birds, and roll around. My wife wasn't very keen on the idea of leaving areas uncut but I think it's paying off.

Flowers are growing where I never even thought of before. We now have bumble bees that visit. My youngest has little bumble bee buddies now. His face lights up when he sees them and I can talk to him about bees and what they do and how we respect them.

This is just from me deciding to allow nature to grow and flourish. I can't wait to see how it goes later on I. The year and I may try and expand it more the next year.

Sorry for the rant but just wanted to share!
