Beat Shell Shock!
If you're out there wondering whether or not you can do it, take it from me - an entirely mediocre player - that it's 100% doable.
Some things I noted that might help out prospective masochists:
You still have a safe room, it's just smaller: the generator room has a lockable metal door and the Beast won't make a hole in it (at least that I've seen in my 3 playthroughs). The calming music will even play! The room with the Save Lantern + Trunk isn't safe, so don't linger.
It's good to make a plan about how you want to split up the game with saves, along with being flexible enough to realize that the plan will be RNG-dependent (you may need to hunt for fuses/codes/equipment, for example).
I spent a lot of time in the dark at the beginning of the game, but once I unlocked the fuel room things got a lot less stressful.
I found four fuses and there may be more. Just keep looking.
