UCL's psycho w language sciences or Bath's psychology
I'm currently in Year 12 and am thinking about studying psychology at university. My top choices are UCL's Psychology and Language Sciences MSci and the University of Bath's Psychology BSc.
I've heard that it's possible to go on to a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology after either degree, but because UCL's course is relatively new, I'd love to hear from anyone who is studying it or has graduated from it.
How similar is the curriculum to a standard Psychology BSc? Do the two courses overlap a lot, or are they quite different? My goal is to become a clinical psychologist, so I'm wondering whether studying Psychology and Language Sciences would make it more difficult to apply for a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology later on.
I also have a second question. If you had to choose between UCL's Psychology and Language Sciences MSci and the University of Bath's Psychology BSc (with a placement year), which one would it be and why?
I know UCL generally has a stronger international reputation than Bath, but would employers or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology admissions place more importance on the university's reputation or on having a traditional Psychology degree?
I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank youu
