meatballs :3

i made the tomato sauce myself but the meatballs are shop-bought, as is the pasta obviously

  1. 2 tins of chopped tomatos in a big pot

  2. lots of salt

  3. some garlic pureé and two big squeezes of tomato pureé

  4. chop and fry and onion, then add it to the pot

  5. youll probably need more salt

  6. oregano, and some pepper

  7. let that bubble away slowly

  8. fry off the meatballs at a high temperature, you just want them to brown on the outside

  9. meatballs in pot, then pot in over at about 160°C, it can rest there for up to two hours

once youre almost ready to serve:

  1. boil a kettle of water

  2. water in pot, lots of salt, then throw the pasta in

  3. cook the pasta until its as soft as you want it to be, stirring every now and then

  4. take a cup of the starchy pasta water and put it aside

  5. strain the pasta, then put it back in the pot

  6. pour the cup of water back over the pasta, its a bit thirsty and needs a drink

  7. serve and enjoy!

omlettes and bread :3

bread recipe: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/easy-white-bread

for the omlettes:

- chop and fry an onion

- chop and fry a couple of mushrooms

- prepare any other fillings you want, mine also had ham and cheese

- crack 2 eggs into a mug and whisk them

- add some oil to a pan and heat it up

- pour the whisked eggs into the pan

- if you are making multiple omlettes, prepare your next two eggs now

- once your eggs are about half cooked, put your filling on *only one half,* not both halfs, of your omlette

- fold the empty half onto your filled half and wait a couple more seconds

- lift out of the pan and enjoy! :>

each omlette only took 3-4 minutes each to make, with about 10 minutes of prep time total. super simple and easy meal :3

bought my first ever physical manga!

the start of my hopefully large collection!

this was the first manga i ever finished, and so i thought it would be fitting for it to also be the start of my physical collection! this story brought me to tears, it was so sweet, and i was so sad when it ended. now i have an excuse to re-read it! :>

Burgers!! :3

home-made burgers served with chips!

for the burgers:

  • 550g mince beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • garlic pureé (or actual garlic if you arent as lazy as me)
  • tomato pureé
  • salt & pepper (more than you think)
  • oregano and thyme

mix it all together in one big bowl, then shape into the size and shape you want (the flatter they are the easier they cook later), then stick them in the fridge for a while

if doing chips, stick them in the airfryer at 200°C for about 20-30 minutes, until they look crispy, shaking ever 10 or so minutes

put the burgers under the grill until they look done on one side, then flip them over. cook (flipping more to keep them even if needed) until the internal temperature is at least 74°. i use a food thermometer that i stick into them, but if you dont have one then cut them open to make sure theyre properly cooked

then serve! i like cheese and ketchup in my burgers, and occasionally some lettuce, but if im eating burgers without the buns i prefer them with mayo, which i also love for my chips

  1. cooked three chicken breasts in the air fryer at 200°C until their internal temperature was above 72

  2. preheated the oven to 120

  3. took the tomato sauce my dad made the night before out of the fridge and started heating it on the hob at a very low temperature (2 out of 9 on our hob), stiring it frequently (lid off, extractor on)

  4. chopped up the chorizo into slices, then cut those slices in half and threw them in the sauce

  5. chopped up and fried one onion and put it in the sauce

  6. once the chicken was at temperature i sliced it up and into the sauce it went, then the whole pot went into the oven with the lid on

  7. boiled the kettle, then cooked the pasta in salted water until it was soft enough

  8. took a small cup of the pasta water, strained the pasta, put it back in its pot, and poured the starchy water back over the pasta

  9. took the pot out of the oven, sliced up the bread my dad brough home, and served up with a bit of basil for decoration!

super happy with how it turned out, and im going to make the tomato sauce myself next time!

my goal is summer now that all my exams are over is to cook dinner at least once a week and try bake something once a week as well :3
